Nice, many thanks apexaudio. I will try the circuit soon. And what do you think of it's possible quality compared to the old circuit by Robert Penfold posted a few pages back? I've wanted to remove the output cap by using split power supply. Could you please provide such circuit with single ended input and split power supply?
BTW, what is the voltage supply range?
AX5 CFA amplifier, AX6, AX8 and FX4 supply range is from 50V to 80V DC.

keeping the same drilled holes for o/p and same PCB (well almost), here is FX-4.
A very rough draft🙂. If anyone spots an error, please let me know.

Thanks apexaudio
AX5 use darlington output transistors like BDT64C/65C or similar, not BDT87/88.

Mr. Mile, can you confirm if the single rail regulated PSU (post #92) can work in dual rail mode too with appropriate schematic modification and devices?

There is PSU5
Studio Reference Amplifier
thanks Mr. Mile. can use a single dual rail PSU 5 to supply two channels of 100W amp (at normal listening levels-home use, never at full power).

PS Here is a somewhat better looking FX-4🙂, although I very much doubt there will be any interest because of the cost and vanishing act of laterals .

Yes, but better use PSU10
Prasi these PSU designs look great. I would love to have a test bench PSU that is versatile enough to adjust for many different amp voltages, maybe even current adjust. Investing in a good PSU would really help with other projects down the track. What do you think? Would the psu10 be the one? Im wondering also what the voltage range would be?
Thank you ApexAudio/ Mr Mile for all the designs you have generously given to the community. I'm really enjoying building my Retro 50.
Cheers

Hi Prasi,
Would love to build FX-4. Much appreciated if you can provide pdf layout.

It's interesting. But it's scary having darlington output without the output cap. But I know you'll suggest a speaker protect 🙂 But I'll try this one too, thank you.

Use PSU100 for AX5

Thanks,
Hello Boyet,
Here are the files. All the best for your build. Do post here when you build and test it.

Mr. Mile,
I wanted to fit the dual rail PSU 5 in 100mm x 100mm for chinese pcbs. So here it is. Its beautiful isnt it?😉
However I could only fit 30mm dia caps, which makes it 6800uf 80V or 4700uf 100V. Some 10000uF in 63 V also available .
So my question is , whether 6800uF is ok or too low?

Prasi

2- pair regulated PSU.....tedious, took a long long time

.. tired with making layouts, time to get on to building things...the pending projects need attention (long list....AX-6, Pass HPA-1, LM317+keantoken KMX, AKSA 55, AKSA 55N, JLH2003+B1 buffer, APEX AA9, APEX AX-14, many more)...

That's and impressive list of amps.
Fair call Prasi, Time to get soldering. I for one am very grateful for all your hard work. Looking forward to seeing your builds mate.

I would like 1 x pcb if available Prasi? Thanks for your efforts 🙂
