P7,
Did you wire the RelVol1C BEFORE the Aikido input? Yes? If you wired it after then that's the problem.... 🙂
Here's the pics.
RCA inputs are on the top near the metal plate (right side in the photo)
Outputs are from the Aikido capacitor selector.
We'll make it work ................or burn it trying!

I ordered 100K res package, E80CC MU is 27.
100 mega resistors? Are you sure?
P7.
Nope, not sure. Still doesn't sound right does it!
Tomorrow I'll have to find the box that has the soldering iron in it and desolder those Resistors in series, then I can check their values.
100M just can't be right!!!
It's what they read by color code though.
I'll let you know for sure tomorrow.
Mine works, I just can't remember exactly what I did. 🙂
Ron
I mounted all resistors I have, for a total over 100M. Still can't reach volume 0 🙁
argh!!!
Dantimax, what a shame!!! What kind of seller you are?

Anyone know the current demand of the Input1 module?
Ive just had one of these transformers go bang on me. It was driving the Input1 module which also had a feed running off to power the control board (non-dantimax). Ive no idea what kind of current the control board needs either (but I do have schematics). Its from a Cambridge audio 340A SE and includes a motor driver for the volume pot and a large i/c for controlling the input switching.
Any ideas on what size transformer I need?

MikeS,
I can't speak to your exact kit, because I don't have the specs on it, but,
the RelVol1 /1C / RelVol3 need 5V DC with 300mA current.
Ron
Piero7,
I'll desolder those resistors today and then measure what they are in series,
DON'T give up! We'll get it done!

Cheers Ron.
In the end I had a look at Mikkels power supply's on his site. One of his suitable supplies is capable of 750mA so I'll use that figure as a bechmark. Im going for 1000mA so I should have plenty of headroom.
Piero7,
I found the floor in my rental house! After moving lots of boxes I found the soldering Iron. Desoldered the 2 resistors in series and measured them to be 96.8K Ohms. I'm gong to order a quality one close to that range.
That doesn't help you probably, but how about a picture of your wiring setup. Maybe we can help you trace the problem down. I'm not very experienced with electronics, but I'm willing to help if I can!

Can anybody help me
I have a configuration made of Control2, Panel2, Inpup1, RelVol1 and I just wonder how to make the mute function available by a front panel button other than from the remote.
In the Control2 manual there is a function called Pin9 HW Mute, but to me it's not clear how to use it. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif
Is there anyboby who already has tried it?
Thanks,
raffaele

Thanks Renron, actually I have 111K as r28-r29. About the wiring, I'll make some photos
@Renron
I have ordered 6 new relays...
Piero7,
What type are they? I was told (by Mikkel) that it's the relays that actually cause the "click" when changing volume.
Did you order the same type or a different brand / manufacturer?
I hope it removes the "Clicks"...............I would DEFIANTLY change mine out too! I hate the clicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ron
I have ordered 6 x Takamisawa RY5W already used in the past and never heard that damned click! 1,5 euro X 1 and if I dont remove the click with these relays I'll dance the tip tap on this fuc@ed board!
For the moment, I'm used the stepper attenuator from Khuzmo

P7,
😀
sounds like a good idea.
Please let me know how it turns out! I'd change mine in a heartbeat if it works!

Anyone using the Input1 module?
If I leave the CDP playing an change to an unused input I can hear it very faintly if I get up close to the speakers. Its really quiet but I wondered if this was an issue others have noticed?
Im using mine in a slightly different way: I have all my RCA grounds tied together. The ground wire connects directly to the volume pot so no input ground connection passes through the Input1 module. I did this to try and avoid any potential ground loops and also to prevent any noise being injected onto the signal ground front the Input1.
Maybe I should wire it up in the standard way?

A lot of posts I haven't seen - I should get here more often 🙁
If using a RelVol1 or RelVol1C board only, you cannot get full muting. The attenuator cannot attenuate more than 63dB, so you get -63dB when you press the mute button. When you use an input selector also, there is a mute relay on that board.

If you hear clicks on every step, it's usually caused by DC somewhere in the path. What's connected on the input and output? If you only have clicks at certain points (like -48/-47dB and -31/-32dB) I have a fix for that...Hi mikkel, I mount the kit relvol1 and it works fine, I have two small problems, the first, I hear in the loudspeaker the click on every step, and the second is that I can't totally mute it, is that normal?
