I guess the BCK is enough. At both source and destination. I cannot offhand say how steep the fronts should be, so that everything works fine.
You should still check the sampling frequency the DAM determines. Just connect a terminal through the RS232 port.

Measurements showed that 176k goes from the renderer instead of 354, the BCK is 11.28.
Some help from the community...
I had my DAM1021 with I2S and toslink inputs (DIYINHK module) in full operation. Recently, the imput toslink stopped giving, I even thought it was a failure of the DIYINHK module and I bought a new one ... but it still doesn't!
Could you give me an idea of what I could do to find out the problem?

The I2s input of the DAM1021 is working. The spdif toslink entry is not. Think about how to handle the input module, but no. Could the "automatic" input selector be blocked on the i2s!? I don't know what happened.

What happens if you force toslink input?

question
I listen to native DSD256s with my Soekris dam1021 and a JLSound USB card, but the native DSD512s don't work to make them listen. Forgive my ignorance, but where's the bottleneck?

1021 converts to PCM up to DSD256. It is the max 384kHz PCM which imposes the hard limit.

You cannot avoid PCM conversion with the 1021 - it is a PCM dac. You can only change whether the conversion is external to the dac.
I apologize, but I didn't say that my listening chain is:
Smartphone with APP Usb Player PRO -> OTG cable-> I2SoverUSB v.III -> Soekris DAM1021
Smartphone with APP Usb Player PRO -> OTG cable-> I2SoverUSB v.III -> Soekris DAM1021
DAM synchronization issue. I got a call from my frustrated friend stating that the DAC is not turning on. When I checked at his home the green light was blinking and the chain is
1.Mac book pro > Amanero USB > DAM1021 rev4 I guess.
now once we start playing the music and then turn on the DAC then it synchronizes sometimes. What could been wrong in the setup? and also what is the fix for this? can anyone help me with this please.

I don't think there is a "fix" for this as it is not something that commonly happens. Check all power supplies and i2s connections. Replace the Amanero with another i2s source. Isolate the issue.
power supplies are all fine as all are proper shunt regulators.
Is there anything with Amanero USB that is it recommended to remove by unmounting it in mac? or does Amanero gets damaged when removed whithout unmount or shutdown of MAC?

What software/player are you using?

Does external 3.3V supply from Amanero can suffice powering the isolators on the DAM1021? I doubt that the current is dropping so as the signal strength. Do I use an external 3.3V supply to the Isolators?
