I don’t see anywhere on what size those holes are on that pic you posted in the first post
that is made for a 24" x 24" piece of wood so if you bring it into you computer and make the outside lines that dimension you can measure the wholes. because I'm enlarging mine to 31" I'll measure the hole then.
@djn: It can be wise to first get a grip of what is actually needed and not in your room (measuring) before you drill the holes. Using smaller holes = decreased open area will increase absorbtion towards lower frequencies and increase reflection = a more live room. Decreasing open area isn't possible if you have already drilled the holes ... Drilling 1 particular hole may be enjoyable for two, drilling a thousand is a bore for one. 😉
Also, I have the visqueen only on the lower super chunk and I will stack the 4 piec3es of wood to drill so I'll have enough plates to cover all 4 chunks.
What is visqueen? Does it have a synonym? (English is not my native language and visqueen doesn't turn up in Gogle translate.)
plastic sheet.

it reflects mids and highs but low freqs goes right through it.

Ok, finally back on this project. I set up the projector last night and marked were all the holes go. Now have to drill them out. I'll let you'al know how it sounds when I measure before and after.
When blown up to this size the holes measure one inch exactly.

Geez Carl, I read your post and slapped my head. I'm building an 18 foot abstract sculpture of Frida Kahlo but her face will be lifelike.
I couldn’t afford the paint just for her eyebrows... 😉
Just goofing. Good luck with the project.
You could also try cutting the 'visqueen' or try kitchen cooking foil ("Alfoil") into strips and fastening them to the front of your absorbers with varying spaces between strips to optimize the mids and tops absorption
