My "local" shop is Mouser or DigiKey hundreds of miles away. You fellas are lucky 😉
Mouser is 1050 miles away from me.
Digikey is 1400 miles away from me.
So yeah, my 'local' shop is THOUSANDS not hundreds of miles away 🤓
Best,
Anand.

Q17 is off the bench and safely singing away in the main system. While in the "test bed" phase I was getting an uncomfortable THUMP with woofer excursion and rebound at power up and "whine" noise at power off. With the SSR DC protection boards installed they have a 3 second delay until signal passes through and instant off when the softstart module enters standby mode, No more noises! PSU delivers +/-50V. Still have to machine the front panel for the momentary pushbutton switch and status LED's, button up the ground loop breaker and install independent fuses for each toroid trafo(currently main fuse in IEC module). But it's time to give Q17 some extended playtime and enjoy the newborn.

Looking forward to your final buttoned up creation and a nice detailed subjective review 😉 👍

Vunce, beautiful!
What size toroidal transformers did you use? Have you solved the hum problem?

Good eyes Anand! Correct.
Antek AS-3435, the 35V secondaries are a compromise, could have went a little higher for Q17. But the plan is to use this chassis and +/-50V power supply as platform for multiple amplifiers. (Q17, PeeCeeBee V5, Dr.Bora’s Sigma IV are planned)
HRDSTL,
Still have a bit of background noise, not enough to hear away from the speakers. But definitely can with ear close. Acceptable for now, until my OCD gets the better of me and dig back in. Probably investigate deeper when the front panel is ready to install.
Thanks for the kind words fellas! 😊

Quick update....
I had to dig back in and solve the noise issue, after a little tweaking my Q17 is now Silent! I overlooked my power supply ground lift configuration from the test bed single supply to the dual mono supply. Originally, channel 1 and 2 psu board GND's were in series with a single NTC to star GND, now each psu board has its own 10R NTC in series with star ground. No more background noise 😉

Although my chassis is not UMS compatible, the four tapped M4 holes in the heatsink will be used for various amp boards mounted on a 3/8" aluminum baseplate. Still have to cut the length and drill/tap the baseplate for the specific amp board to be mounted. But this will eliminate the heatsink from becoming swiss cheese.

Hello,
You'll find many aluminum sellers on Ali. It's just a little complicated to find the right size with Ali's bad search engine.
An example in 80 x 200 mm (205 or a little more will be better for the Q17).

On aliexpress you can find cheap boxes but very expensive shipping, ...when you add it up the price is ultimately the same as in modushop.
I personally will be buying a 4U modushop box specifically this one. The toroidal transformers and the softstart board will be placed behind the front panel in a standing position and separated from the Q17 by a 12 mm aluminium partition. That's how I imagine it:

I found another 80x250 aluminum plate, 6mm. The sides are rounded on this one.
