Hi all,
Is it too late to join the group buy?
(Sorry if this was already stated in previous pages)
This was a North American GB. I’d certainly be interested if there was a European GB . . .
Studley thank you for answering Martigane's question before I saw it. This is a N. American group buy and has been closed for awhile as we await the COVID-19 production delays that occurred. In hindsight it seems laughable that as we placed our order in the west C-19 was thought to be a minor glitch that would extend the holiday production breaks in PROC (where Purifi sources the magnets to build woofers in Denmark) a couple of weeks and then back to normal. How I wish that were true.
A word of advice to anyone planning your own group buy. After spending quite a few hours with the spreadsheet where I am tracking costs for this buy I have concluded Purifi's pricing model is very keen. By that I mean in the context of a group buy the savings one gets at the higher quantity price breaks has to cover the second round of shipping from the group organizer to other participants. Purifi will decline to ship to individual group participants, policy is for a given price break all drivers will ship to one address. As long as the packing and shipping for the second round shipping is held to a few 10s of dollars or euros or pounds you will come out ahead. For example I was contacted by some in Australia and New Zealand and after checking shipping costs it was far less for them to just buy a pair of woofers from Purifi compared to joining this group buy.

I think anyone who organises a GB deserves a medal. Actually we should establish a new convention on DIYA; anyone who organises and runs a GB should get their own items FOC.
Well done on organising the group buy Norman, especially given the circumstances. I purchased mine around the same time, but due to my small qty. mine were shipped before the crisis.
I must extend thanks to the Purifi staff (if any reading). I was stoked at their support with my order, especially because I was struggling with their 'in house' payment method.
I must reiterate that the product I received was in perfect condition and is functioning flawlessly. Anyone who has participated in the group buy - you better be like kids on Christmas Eve because you are going to have fun with this one. This is an awesome, ugly-*** lil' woofer.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has left the building, Elvis has left the building.
RIP King of Rock and Roll
I am also extremely pleased to report in addition to The King’s exit that 34 PuriFi woofers and 12 PuriFi passive radiators have exited the PuriFi factory on their way to the organizer and then to members of the PuriFi North American Group Buy. As this is typed packages have moved from Brussels Belgium to Copenhagen Denmark with arrival in Tulsa Oklahoma USA scheduled for Monday, May 04, 2020. Fingers crossed progress is to schedule and customs clearance routine.
Studley and mainframe99 thank you for the kudos on my organizing the group buy. I invite all to join me in laughing at and with me as I reveal when I started the GB I wondered if there would be enough interest in such a new and expensive driver to qualify for the best price break, then at 8+ drivers (since changed to 6+). Yes we got to 8 drivers OK. Not funny is that when the GB started 17th January 2020 I had yet to learn the term COVID-19 and the only news about some new virus reported it might extend PROC’s winter holiday factory shutdowns a week or two. With that in mind I will also agree with mainframe99 that the staff at PuriFi are great to work with and persevered as the pandemic roared over the earth to make this delivery happen.

Thanks for the update Norman and really thank you and appreciate the very detailed and professional updates as usual. Now that the arrival is coming up, I need to start giving the build a bit more thoughts.
Yes, we best start designing boxes in earnest! I have access to a RAAL tweeter that might work really well with this driver at 1700Hz XO. My recent experience with the power and awe of a tapered PMC style TL is telling me maybe that is the way to go with the Purifi woofer.

which ribbon is that? 70-20 or 150-15? I believe the 70-10 and the 60-10 can't go that low, but i maybe mistaken....
Hi Norman, Thank you for going the extra mile to make this group buy happen! - and Great news on the drivers!!! This is getting exciting -- 🙂
-- now if I only new what to build with the four drivers -- LOL
--- Hi XRK , I stopped buy your new PMC styled TL speaker thread, it looks very promising, don't have enough money left for a RAAL though ...... maybe a double stacked AMT tweeter , or your FAST driver ....
-- It would be great to know what others are thinking of building.

I don’t have the RAAL permanently either. It’s pricey I admit. I think a FAST full range top with a B80 or SS 10F might be very good too.
If anyone is interested in what looks to be a good passive radiator at a considerable discount, this one is on sale today only:
Wavecor PR182BD02 7" Black Aluminum Cone Passive Radiator
I haven't done any modeling with it to see how suitable it is or if more than one would be needed.

I have possession of the Group Buy's PURIFI transducers! Over the weekend our order cleared USA customs and DHL Express just dropped them off.
As luck would have it today is my wife's birthday so tomorrow group buy members look for an email confirming your addresses and we will get the second shipping leg started ASAP.

Group Buy drivers after checking counts are correct and no shipping damage.
