A Klipschorn will crush your chest with the right program material.

If you pull the fuse on the midrange driver it all goes away.

Deep bass flaps your pant legs, misbass/midrange crushes your chest.

and i would be afraid to broje it if i but loud at dubstep and bass boost on it ....

its old ... ? seems to be like in the 70s

maybe something more recent ? 😉

The Klipschorn has been in production since 1946 and is still available today.

I don't recommend using an amplifier larger than a Carver M1.5T (750W/8Ω on program material) or you may have a problem.

"maybe something more recent ?"

Facts are facts, 2+2=4 has been true for a long time.

This is what I build to knock people flat:

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g196/dkleitsch/CoePA-2009.jpg

Turn off the horn-loaded mids and all the punch is gone. The mids cover 150hz~1.2Khz.

The subwoofers are my PPSL design, a stacked pair are -3dB at 31hz, and 107dB/2.83V/1M. The push-pull slot-loading reduces distortion.

but it is Klipsch Klipschorn (la paire)
15990 € too much

can you suggest me something more recent , cause im 18 and this speakers looks like my grand pa could have it 😛

i believe you that it is powerful but its not my style ... :s

I have online plans for the PPSL. Any cabinet (or car stereo) shop can knock them out in no time.

This would make a nice top box.

Fusion-12 Tempest DIY Sound Group

I made a one-box system like this years ago for a 14 year old student, but I would recommend building it as a two-box system.

What kind of budget are you thinking?

For the speakers?

For the electronics?

A grand total?

Here is a dual 12 set a friend of mine completed for a high-powered heavy metal band (he selected the cosmetic details).

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g196/dkleitsch/sub-2way2.jpg

Here is a dual 12 horn load with dual PPSL (which are dual 15) sub system for another friend. The wooden horns are relatively easy to build (for a cabinet shop). This turned out to be overkill, and this system will probably be downsized.

I presume you noticed that the top plate thickness and coil height are reversed on that data sheet?

It's a great driver, with a great (high) price to go with it.

121dB with +29dBW in 1Pi translates to squat at 1W/1M in 2Pi, probably makes a great home sub pushed up against a wall though.

thats wht i've been thinking;

using my Behringer Inuke3000DSP (2x speakon output)for the mid bass horn like a pair of dual 15"

maybe buying an amplifier(if too much do not integrate in budget ) specialized for subs and like a pair of 18" or pair of dual 18" ....

grand total budget 2000$ MAX

i want to do party like in a club , something powerful!
so what do you think ? 🙂

I don't think it's even remotely possible with $2000.

The Tempest kit is $318 alone. That's for one speaker. Add in shipping and taxes and customs fees and exchange fees and the price will almost double. So that's about $1200 or so just for the mains. And that doesn't include the actual boxes for the mains (the kit only includes the front baffle), glue, finish for the boxes and labor to assemble them. Or an amp or an active crossover to run them.

But the good news is those mains go down to 37 hz, so you really don't need separate midbass AND sub boxes.

You can save a significant amount of money if you can have that Tempest kit mailed to a US address and bring it over the border yourself. You can also save a significant amount if you buy your amps in the US too, but then warranty claims are very difficult. You can also save a lot if you build your own boxes. And you don't need as much sub if your room is rigid, like a concrete bunker basement.

Your main problem is high Canadian prices, even a pro would have trouble putting together an entire club system in Canada for $2000. If you can't at least build your own boxes you don't have any chance, IMO.

You can easily do the subs for $2000 and upgrade the rest later, but if you mini stereo doesn't have any audio output jacks (and it probably doesn't) you can't even do that.

oh... but how much could it costs for everything ?

and is there someones or a depot that i can ship it in the us to go take it after?

and with the subs will i get worth for my money ? 🙂

why there isnt deals like that ? Cerwin Vega CVi218S Passive PA Subwoofer

i dont know if its good but its very not expensive for my opinion ...

It's junk, it's rated at -3db at 51 hz and it will probably measure even worse since it's not uncommon to lie in these specs. Probably very loud but won't play low. This is a sub for an acoustic bar band (and it's barely even good for that) it's not for dubstep.

There are deals like that in Canada, here's a music shop and I think they ship for free. Live Sound : Speakers : Subwoofers Unpowered - Axe Music - The #1 Store for Guitars in Canada - Buy Now (Free Shipping)
You can probably find a deal in a pro music shop near you, but pro subs are mostly junk for the type of music you like.

Here's the type of sub that will make you happy, but they are very expensive. Tapped Horn | Danley Sounds Labs | Danley Sound Labs, Inc.
Probably the cheapest thing they sell would be in the $3000 range, the more expensive subs would probably cost more than most people make in a year.

There are places that will accept US packages for a small fee and you can bring them across the border yourself. Here's one that I have used but you need to find one local to you. US Parcel Pickup | Canadian-American Package Pickup Location

How much it costs for everything depends on an almost infinite amount of variables.

Like djk said , is there midbass horn pa speakers for sale in canada shop to produce chest compression or just something to make a huge roller coastwr feeling and plays well music for 2000$ and under cause i work at local gricery and 2000and over is a lot for me ... 🙂

And maybe irs a challenge but im gonna be very recognescent 🙂))

WOW!

When did CV start making a push-pull subwoofer?

"it's rated at -3db at 51 hz and it will probably measure even worse since it's not uncommon to lie in these specs"

Don't think so, they look real for the size of the box. They should make it a 6th order equalized system however, they could pick up another half-octave of bass response.

Have you ever seen a pair of Klipsch LaScala for sale locally? Or a pair of Heresy?

I have a mod for the LaScala that gives it killer bass. The Heresy will kill when used with a sub, especially if you have the HIP version (more efficient). A friend uses his pair of HIP with a single PPSL with a $200/500W plate amplifier, it really kicks in his big basement room. We are building more PPSL and as part of a complete PA for his daughter (she sings in a CW band).

I seriously can't recommend something to give you a "roller coaster feeling". I don't know what that is. You are not doing very well at relating this experience in technical terms. Maybe you should go to the club where you had this feeling and ask them questions about their system. BUT it's very likely that the club was made mostly of concrete so you may never get that same feeling at home no matter what you do.

The feeling like if your heart was gonna get out of your chest .., welll
My room is downstairs so my walls are of concrete ..

Chest thumping IME comes from the 70-120Hz (ie kick drum) region.

If you want lower in order to rearrange your intestines I'd probably go for multiple LAB12s. 3 of them would cost about the same as one of those RCFs and two 12 inchers have roughly the same surface area as one 18".
