I’m building my aleph 5 as we all know. I have a question I know that you don’t just plug it in you have to power it up using a varaic I have access to a scope and wave generators. My questions is what voltage should I fire the amp up to (per rail.) and where are the test points that I can test to see if I should go further.

I don't know exactly how your front end board is designed, but you can probably check it first and then the whole amp. I slowly bring the variac up from 0V and look at the scope and current draw. If everything goes well, I go up to full rails.
OK, i did´nt built an aleph until now. But the Zen amps i built i double checked visual the wireing and pluged them in. No problem.

last one,
final preview of the final result.
It will not be the final version, but I couldn't wait, so I'll manage with this front panel.
It is still missing a kind of base to permit the air to enter the sinks.
any ideas?
maybe a block of concrete? easy to build and cheap.

does it get warm after a whyle. ? if not dont worrie about it. and i would have used aluminum of the front face plate.
I only used it with 5cm gap at the bottom. the temperature was about 50ºC after 3hours, so I think some kind of tall feet were nice 😉
I used wood also to try french polish. ITS GREAT!!!
wassup with the www.diyaudio.com ???

don't be worried about the temperature too much.
only the two sinks were the boards are attached are that hot.

see the pics.
I have 3 sinks/ch. the boards with the fets are attached in the middle of two sinks, so the heat doesn't reach the third one.

ohhh now if i were you i would have put 2 fets per sink ehhe : O ) but hey that is me.. probably would have worked a bit better also.
looks cooler this way.
I took the chance, and since the sinks aren't too hot i'll leave it this way.
