Power supplies for the Whammy head amp

I'll explain where it all came from:
The Whammy sounded a little dark and since I had lme49720, I decided to try it.
It worked wonderfully, so after a few songs I also decided to put tidier cables.
At that point one channel was not working.
I check better and the other channel breaks down too.
Thinking that the 16.8V had damaged the lme49720 I lowered to 15V and put a new lme49720.
No sound, to bring it to 15V I had ruined the tracks a bit.
Out of fear I no longer put the old BB2604 back.
I then read in the forum that the lme49720 hadn't worked for someone.
It works with BB2604.
Strange, but that's how it is.
I had a lot of support and learned a lot, grazie.
The things that work must be left alone, I will never understand.
Perdonate il mio pessimo inglese

MOOLY!
The Whammy works!

Well I'm really pleased :)

Just reading all you've done to it, different opamp, cables, bit of chewed up print/pcb/tracks... the LME49720 should work and the DC tests with resistors prove it worked.

I dunno, I would have to see it and spin around in my hands and have a good look at it all :) If the IC is in a socket why not try another opamp. At the risk of everyone pulling a face at my suggestion ;) try a TL072.

Mooly,
You have been the perfect help in this matter and there was no interference by anyone else either, so that helps very much. Some of us are teachers. Me? Not so much. Too bad, because we need a lot more teachers like you there. So many people preach/criticize/don't accurately read responses and more. I held my breath that this would work out and here we are.
Now, I have this friend who has some questions about wiring...
