Recently finished up a honey badger into a Denon POA 2200 case. I basically just pulled the Denon amp boards out and used everything from the Denon. Perfect fit. All Denon soft start, speaker protection, and diagnostic circuitry is retained and fully functional. +-72v rails. Dual mono power supply below the transformer. 40,000uf filter capacitance per channel.
Very pleased with the performance.

Great Idea, I have a 2800. If you replace those speaker terminals and those stamped metal pieces with wire you will improve the sound.

Just pulled this out of the university E-waste. Fuses are still good and I see no leaky caps. The design was probably cool in 1968 but I'm not too keen on the capacitor in series with the speaker. Would it be heresy to pull the electronics out and swap them with something modern?
I have a DAC and LM3886 gainclone laying around which still need an enclosure. I can lasercut letter templates to put appropriate lettering for the new design on the faceplate and I have some black paint left over from my DIY speaker project. So this could be a nice evening project...
