Where did you get the soft start circuit, switch, case, volume knob, preamp circuit .... everything! 😀

Wow I can't believe it's been this long.
20 year old Leach Low TIM 3 with BOAK fully regulated dual power supplies with Walter Jung mods , soft start, 800VA toroid and 160,000 mF capacitor banks. Still my daily listen.
I must be getting old.

It looks quite ugly compared to other things in this post, but it really sounds good!
It's my JLH, version "2003 update" (I think that's what it's called)
with CapMult, A970 input T, A733 ccs (maybe not copletely stable), C3421 driver, 15003 output T.
Works at 24V and 1,25A quiescent current.
Made it all by myself, pcb from Eagle and toner transfer, and many parts from wrecked equipment. Very proud.
It took me forever to tame the last buzz, and I should just have followed the "earthing" instructions... 🙄
But since yesterday I have my own class-A, and it is sweet.

These come from eBay (the guy still sells some of the same).
I would appreciate an opinion about these transformers.
I took them because they were cheap and I use them for my prototypes. They give 19-0-19V and are "labelled" 160VA.
I have them on a separate "piece" and I'll replace them with "better" tranformers as soon as I get a good deal.
Or are these any good?

Next in the list: build a GEM.
The better of the two (JLH or GEM) will go in a high-WAF enclosure, the other will play music too, but in my own working room.
This JLH is sweet, but I could do with some fuller medium-bass when playing rock; for jazz and classical I can't stop listening!
(My references: an Audio Analolgue Puccini SE and a Creek 4140; my source: Cambridge CD3, which is a sweeeeet 4xTDA1541A; speakers: Opera Platea two-way small columns)

They heat up somewhat a lot, but you can still read the value, so they are ok, but you could put in ones with more power rating, for longer life of amp IMO
