😀 😀 😀

you are right tinitus!

If one is a newbie, IMO he has to keep it as simple as possible.

My last suggestion is neo8pdr + Rs180 ( one) . THE END !😀
Sub below 70-80Hz.

I am sure this can sound very very well.

Cheers,
Paolo

We couldnt agree more 😉

I previously suggested this one

It doesnt look very simple, but actually it really is

4 x RS125 and 2 x RS100 and Neo3..."simple" 2.5way design
With a total of 6 drivers playing midbass it could turn out to have good power

Its not what I would normally do, but it uses most of the drivers already on hand, and no need fore buying any other
Looks like ok to me

A small 2way could be the sensible choice, but my 2way would be rather big
Small speakers are not my kind of thing

And I reckon it to be important that it still holds some of the request fore a big good looking speaker
Theres no way around that we have to like what we see, and in that respect we are not all alike
If you like huge monster speakers theres no point in small ones, they will never do no matter how good they are
Same thing with cars, and many others
A bit scary to think that such a simple matter controls a signifcant portion of our life

Well, I think it looks good, so here it is again...wonder if this will ever stop :clown:

This is a rough filter

We will look at values later, and take it step by step

But no point in doing this until the box is finished

So theres a few things we need to clear about the box design

Need to do calculations
but as you may see I prefer a wider and flat design, fore several reasons
One is I think it looks much better, but I also think it works better

Its important to have the tweeter exactly at the height of your ears when sitting in your favourite listening position
This determines the rest, more or less

Hi tinitus,

Excuse my intromission, why you are forcing the 100 and the 125
"Together" ( in the bass) ?
Why do not ( slightly )" protect "the 100s? At least they will make less
doppler effect, no? ( they are the midrange, right?)

Cheers,
Paolo

Hi

Sure thing

I try to do it as easy as possible
But as I said its a rough filter
Series cap may come later

But we will see how it goes
Lots of things may need attention still
Impossible to make a "ready to go" this way

I dont expect it to be a "headbanger", but still with greater powerhandling than a 2way with just one 5" 😉

small remark

I think with this design, subs and all, it may give the "feel" of "loud", "power" and "volume" at lower levels too 😉

btw Paolo

You wouldnt happen to know a design with Neo3

With crossover components and measurements

Not sure to understand your question, tinitus.

I don't know filters for Neo3 with RS100's🙁

I can say anyway you can filter the Neo3pdr with only one 10microF series cap without risks. Expected acoustic cross is function of the baffle widht of course. But you are about 5000Hz, maybe less.
Without basic measurements "in situ", I see the "thing" very complicated here...........
But you have had the "office", not mine!😀

see you tomorrow,

Paolo

Paolo

I was just interested in seeing the behaviour of Neo3, nothing else

Well, we knew that from the beginning, nothing has changed that, other than Justin may have it a bit easier now

As said before, I would never do this, if it wasnt fore the fact that Justin have all the drivers, and like to do something with them

I suggested to build this one as a dipole, just to learn, and not waste a lot of wood
That didnt happen, so here we are

This is kind of a simplified version of Justins own plan

Justin, I am not sure what you expect, but I wont promise you that it will work in first shot...it will take some work, maybe a lot

🙂
