UGS Muse Preampli
Few pics of the UGS Muse preampli just completed... amazing project presented here by Algar_emi and developed in the HCFR forum.
I have to say that, after the F5X, this was my most challenging (and funny) build.
A particular THANKS to Alex_twin and Eric06 for the pcbs design, firmware and various BOM developed. Thanks also to Algar_emi for the dedicated thread and of course Nelson Pass to make his design available to all of us
Best Regards,
Enrico

Wow! Superb layout, internal wiring superb, frontpanel and backpanel looking amazing.
Well done!
I would like to build an UGS Muse also sometimes....but too many projects 😀
Are there still boards available? GB's are closed long time ago.

Ciao Enrico,
Looks really great!
How are the UGS FETs fitted to the silver aluminium heatsinks?
Does the PSU unit supply AC or DC? The front boards look like shunt regs.
Well done!
Nic

Thanks Walter!
True, the GBs are closed since 2 years now. I was lucky to buy a complete set of boards from one guy that sell them here in Swap Meet 🙂
Cheers,
Enrico

Ciao Nic,
Nothing fancy... the heatsink is a composed by a central square part and 2 lateral flat aluminium and 2 screws. The FETs are just in the middle as a sandwich...
The PSU unit supply all the DC requested but unregulated. There is a regulator boards for the 6V for the logic and 5V for the relays.
As far I understand the PSU unit proposed in the GB is the same of the previous version of the UGS preampli where the 24V regulator was included in the preampli boards.
The Salas BIB shunt bring the +/- 30V to the 24V required
Cheers,
Enrico
Beautiful!! Exactly what I would need
Thanks Davide,
Will be very difficult to have a set of pcbs but you can try asking to Alex_twin... maybe he still have some spare 😉
Ciao,
Enrico
Wow!!! Enrico what a great looking amp you've build there, congratulations.
R.
Thanks!

finally posting the pic of my F5-ACA (4 channel amp):
if you are interested in more porn (in Zen mod's lingo) here are the pics of my BA3b mono blocks before the covers were put on. I built the housings from scratch using the same approach.

I have soldered an ACA#1 - amplifier for a DIY-friend of mine a couple of days before.
Find attached its pictures.
Image#1 is showing the layout of "my" ACA#1 - PCB.
Being driven by a 20VAC / 80VA toroid (indeed I am using a 2x20VAC / 160VA toroid), each channel has its own CAP-Multiplier PSU.
The CAP-Multiplier - on the right side of the PCB - has been developped / optimized by Mr. Jason Kuetemann (member of this forum).
I have adjusted the "bias operating voltage" to about 13V.
Image#2 is showing its case: a 56€ ALU-case, produced in China, where else?
Image#4 is showing the current setup: my HUAWEI Media X2 and the TEUFEL Raumfeld Connector (a German Media Player) are both connected to my local WLAN
and are communicating to one another via IP.
The "music" (my "favourite list") is stored on a 16GB USB-stick, which I connected to the Raumfeld Connector.
I have had the chance to listen to this setup using a 8 Ohm KEF Q1 pair of speakers.
The sound has been "wonderful, incredible, ..".
I am now looking myself for a "used pair of 8 Ohm speakers".
