hello there 🙂
I saw here few of you who use ICAR 50uf capacitors.I too want to order those caps 50MF SB25/R-FS-DECK - MULTICOMP - CONDENSATORE, 50UF, D-DECK STUD | Farnell Italia and i was wondering if they come with fixing system ?

The last time I bought studded caps they did'nt so you'll need some of these.
PYB7041 - KEMET - NYLON CAP NUT, M12 | Farnell United Kingdom

they already have the fixing nut? i saw in the datasheet multiple fixing systems for those caps but doesn`t say nowhere if they come with anyone of them..I am a little bit confused
all motor runs I saw are having either screw fixed on bottom , or slot mounting for same
in both cases , screw is isolated from cap (electrodes) itself , what's completely logical - they're serious professional devices , not usual audio mumbojumbo thingie
in case that these (linked ) caps are having slot mounting screws , it's normal to expect that you'll get screws along with caps

not motor runs !
they're intended for mounting on (whatever gadget is in question ) case , which is always on safety gnd potential

the special motor run caps are not stud mounted, are they ?
ahh, those in question are special 'lighting' caps
some plastic cased, some not
but all still appear to be 'dry caps' and with isolated can
are lighting caps good ?
hey, maybe they are the secret BlackGate caps

Motor-Runs !...

Cheers.

ALL fully-insulated = No worries !!!
I hear motor-runs are hard to get, behind the Iron Curtain...
...mystery-buyer hoarding all available stocks...
...rumour has it; for Earth's LARGEST plastic PSU.
( I don't believe a word of it personaly...
...just another 'urban myth'...Mmmm...? )

those black ones looks as motor start caps
nono in PSU , they're just bad electrolytics
Why are they a nono in a psu? And dose that include tube psu?
When you say bad.... Bad how?
Poorly made?
Don't last long?
Lower than spec?
Thanks for info.
Hi dude
They WERE just 110volt electrolytics ( non-polar ( I think))
I did actualy chuck 'em in the back of the garage ( just in case ).
The white & silver ones are the polys.
Cheers.

RIFA PEH 200 has the stud screw tied to the cathode. That yields to a short circuit in the negative side of a +/- power supply if you connect it to PE of the chassis, how it is usually mounted. This will fry a diode bridge until break it in two. Lot's of smoke and cracks. I promise!

Pointing it out on the datasheet LOUD and clear? That's for sissies!

Mmmm...
Interesting...
Is the RIFA PEH 200 a motor-run ?
I don't think they would allow a motor-run like that in the UK...
...could be wrong of course !
Cheers.
