Congratulation!
How does it play compared to your other amps?

Doesn't have the balls of my Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum, or the even my DIY F5. Top end sounds better than the F5; not sure whether the bottom of the F5 is better or not. Both top and bottom are better than the Cronus Magnum, which sounds a bit veiled (I hate that term, but it fits) in comparison.

Less similar to the F3 than I would have thought. J2 has much tighter bass on multi-way speakers. Haven't compared on full-range yet (which is where the F3 should shine). Top of J2 is clearer than F3, but not as sweet. Both are more forgiving than the F5 can be.

Cronus Magnum......a KT120 push-pull…..around 100W in 8 ohm it seems.
Did you perform some measurements on J2 to check the harmonics?
But it seems J2 is worth spending some time on...….good to know :)

My Maggies are 4 ohms so the 4 ohm taps on the Cronus Magnum are still putting out around 100W. The J2 gets knocked down to 13W, which is why I mostly use the F5 (40W into 4 ohms) in the main system.

Haven't done any measurements yet (well, outside of SPICE anyway).

This is my Xmas present to myself. It's a stereo Aleph J (ZM Babelfish version) with SJEP120R100 as active gain output. Heatsinks are from the Aleph heatsink group buy. Power supply is 2 x external "bricks" with CLC filtering in the chassis. XRK SSR DC Speaker protection boards.
