Morning rdf:
No..never thought of using chassie as part of the circuit. I always just run ground wires from everything to the input ground....as you can see in the pic. Although now that you mention it the chassie would probably save a lot of wire. I see from the pictures here a lot of ways to improve on my mess in my next project.

Actaully it would still be best to maintain a star ground implementation rather that use the chassis.

Don't want to imply massive experience so YMMV but I used ground plane on an amplifier project originally designed for direct connection to crystal pickups. The input sensitivity is 0.1 volt. It's very, very quiet. In this case a PBC was used for the ground plane, I never did figure out how to attach wires to heavy copper. Too much heat required, the best idea I could come up with was machine screws through the copper sheet and nuts for a compression crimp. Then I woke up. 😉
The next project looks like it's going to be an Aikido and no question the same technique will be used.

the input/driver stage is designed by Curcio.
I made the PCB by myself with Circad (www.holophase.com).
Yes, the amp use negative feedback.

My new amp🙂
4x 6ch6 in a ppp design with 6c4 as phase splitters, still havent desided what the inputtube will be on the final amp, the schematic said 6br7 but Im not happy with that.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Upuppa... you are like a broken record... 🙂

By the way, what is wrong a 6BR7 input stage?
Asbestos - no! They'd get asbestosis or mesothelioma or something horrible like that...

To dave : I know 😎 - if Audio Research know to cover tubes inside, why don't know it amateur ? Are look at tubes so horny ? 😀
Hehe lucky I dont have any children then🙂
I had some problems with a whitenoise like sound comming from the first stage, I tried it in triodemode but it was still there..

Hey jef mai
very nice chassis.Especially the woodwork.
Is this a commercial product?I'm very interested to buy one.

Hello, this is a power supply for my new 807 tube amply under costruction!
Your impressions?
Thanks, bye!

one of the best sounding amps i ever heard was clipped together in a shoebox full of sand around a silver ingot, heheh
no chassis. brilliant!
