Philips CD650 mods

Motor slowing problems could be as simple as a broken off wire in a connector?

After finishing recapping my CD670, it worked fine for a while, then blew the fuse and the transistor in the negative supply to the motor.

I was puzzled, but it turned out one of the wires in the power supply connector between the audio/PSU and the CDM2 board had broken off and was shortcircuiting something. I failed to take a picture of the broken wire, but I've added a picture with the connector marked. These connectors and wires are very fragile since the wiring is stiff.

After opening the connector block, reinserting the broken off wire, and replacing the SMD BC818 transistor with a BC338, she's alive again: Flickr

I need the service manual of the servo board "5886" as to see in your attachment No 2 (and of the servo board "6105")
Both servo boards are to find in service-manuals from other brands - go to post #36 under
https://www.diyaudio.com/community/...2-cdm-4-transports.372412/page-2#post-7030898
but not to find in the present Philips service manuals under
https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/philips/cd650.shtml
and
https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/philips/cd670.shtml
and CDM-2 supplement under
https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/philips/cdm-2.shtml
maybe there are additional supplements from Philips to the mentioned servo boards - thanks for an advice.

I never found the service manual for the specific servo board for the CD-670, but I found the manual for the CDM-2 helpful enough for me to be able to find the problem on mine.

"6105" and "5886" are no specific servo boards for Philips CD670 - they are in use in several other models and brands. But for the service manual for CDM-2 must actually exist a supplement concerning this later released boards than those four different versions, which are to find in the CDM2 service manual.

I agree, a supplement must exist, or must have existed... it's many years ago now, the files/manuals could have been deleted/thrown in the bin :(

for the servo board "5999" circuit diagram is on page 4-13 in this manual (used for CDM-1/MKII):
https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/philips/cd880.shtml
for the servo board "5886" circuit diagram is on page 6-3 in this manual (used for CDM-2/0301)
https://www.vintageshifi.com/repertoire-pdf/pdf/telecharge.php?pdf=Philips-CDM-2-Service-Manual.pdf
for the servo board "6105" (made for CDM-4/25 and CDM-4/27) I still don't find the right manual - maybe due the fact, that is only a supplement for CD460-560 and CD650 so as various Marantz models with CDM-4/25.
