No worries Shaan, hope it was not something very serious and you are recovered. I was surprised how shorting Q10 ended up to fry the other power transistor (Q11). All the best!

I can find MJE340/350 locally and i'd like to use 42V supply for my active setup with 4ohm driver, but still confused with "with higher voltage rated clamp diodes". which part number is it?

Hi Shaan, after replacing the defective power MOS my amp is singing again. Because it seemed a bit clinical sounding compared to my other amplifiers I followed your advice and installed a power resistor 0.1R in series with my 4ohm speakers. The result was much stronger than expected, trebles tamed a lot (maybe a bit too much) bass became a bit stronger and mids (voices) came up with more presence.
Now I use a 0.033R manganese Isabellenhuette 30W resistor and I believe I reached the desired balance. Enough details in treble register with the nice voice presence. It is unbelievable the impact of a such small resistor value in the overall sound.
Thanks again for your help!

@shaan what is this mod ? didnt know about it . Can it be done to my amp also and also would request you to please explain the logic behind it.Hi Shaan, after replacing the defective power MOS my amp is singing again. It increases the output impedance and decreases damping factor of the amp output. It sometimes work wonders in light coned high sensitivity drivers. Of course you can try it as well.
Okay. What is the suggested Resistor ? (Ohms and Watts)Hi.

Hi am traveling .. visiting the tea gardens before plucking starts for the season. Will be back home by Thursday. Will update then.Any impressions @lifewater? 🙂

I keep on using 35Vdc so i can use same supply with gainclone because this will be multichanel amp for my active 4 way
V4 boards are no longer printed. V4H boards are available right now. These are sonically same to V4, but has a higher power headroom.Intrested in next buy or if any are available, thanks!

I took a look at a couple of the older Mouser Carts that people shared here in this thread and came up with a new one that has everything in it, but it is mostly premium parts.
Take a look at it and let me know if I missed anything or got something wrong,
PEECEEBEE V4H Rev 2 Mouser cart
It is for two boards.
Thank you,
David.
