The actual Sibelius stand has a tilt arrangement to angle the speakers upwards a bit. Haven’t tried it and not sure if any benefits with this arrangement…

acko,
A slight tilt possibly can help adjust the projection of upper and mid frequencies towards the listener, and aid in tinkering the perception of height of the soundstage? Also it might have an impact on the perception of higher and mid frequencies depending on the height of the listener, the height of the chair/seat, listening distance and room.
Can be achieved with regular spikes / speaker feet also by placing a couple of discs/coins under the spikes / speaker feet that are towards the front side of the loud speaker.
Thanks, very interesting🙂
I vaguely remember in the past with smaller bookshelf type speakers to fire upwards a bit for better effects but for a tall and heavy floorstander is something new to me… perhaps listening standing up, like what I do mostly for testing 😉

Lifting FH soo far off the floor will reduce bass/extention smoothness as the mouth becomes decoupled from the floor.

Hi Wil I like to build them as much as according the original.a simple solution for nice stands for the Sibelius….View attachment 1364162 under the Sibelius….
What about the rest of the spectrum according to your feeling?Hi Qbas the 10.2 gives a deeper bass.
Hi acko, I spoke with Harley and since it is a single driver, the vertical listening position is not important. It is therefore not necessary to tilt the speaker to the listening position. Gr. Hi Hondas, for me it's also important that the cabinet is a exact copy. In my research of the photos and the original speaker I came up with slightly different sizes than you. For example, the slanted plywood in my case becomes 80cm long.Hi Wil I like to build them as much as according the original.
Thanks Wil, I gather this tilt arrangement has something to do with alignment of drivers on the vertical axis for other types …Hi acko, I spoke with Harley and since it is a single driver, the vertical listening position is not important. I try to make a perfect clone of the Sibelius and
analyzed several photos in my own way and came up with my own construction drawing. I think I'm very close to the original, but it would be nice if it was confirmed by more builders. A little further back in this thread Kotlos analysis comes close to mine. Here are my measurements. The 18mm birch plywood was confirmed by Harley himself...

The Sibelius is prob a pretty good speaker. But what I learned from this forum, is that you can come up with the best drivers in the cleverest designs, you still have to fine tune them with positioning and damping to the room and your preferences. Even then its not garuateed that the speaker is doing its best in your room.
