then there is most intriguing puzzle piece - modulated cascodes
whatever - exactly that puzzle piece is most interesting for me , rest is exercise in Demonstration of Force
10-15W is upper bracket for my needs , so no L'Art pour L'Art ....... at least not this time![]()
First I thought that these cascodes refer to Prof. Hawksford’s article: “Reduction of Transistor Slope Impedance Dependent Distortion in Large-Signal Amplifiers”, but I was informed that this is not true.
We have to continue with guessing.....

Mr. P has revealed this previously. Check out Zen Variations 9 - Fig.4. I recall that there was more discussion in some threads here on DIYA at the time.
Enjoy.

dunno - I had some impression that something diff is in case
in any case - principle is known , but implementation must be well thought for particular cases

I agree.
But I think that the basic circuit principle/mechanism is the same even though the method of implementation might be different. If this is so, then the ZV9 article should put an 'implementer' pretty far down the road.
I do recall that NP posted a while back that he had 2 or 3 ways of implementing cascode modulation.

That was then. Now I have 4 or 5 ways to skin that cat.
😎
He alwayz iz teasing us like this...... 🙄
Sorta reminds me of watching the serial episodes on TV or at the movies - come back next week for the latest info.... 😎😎😎
Coat tails fellas, coat tells.
I have talked to that coat via Skype and even it won't say a single word. Sorta reminds me of SWMOB onna bad day.... 😀😀😀

yup
Mighty Moi had that impression
that's why I'm spining my head these days , trying to think ...... about cascodes detached from gnd (not exactly gnd , but under-source/emiter resistor level )
huh
There's a huge variety of things you can do with cascodes. Just think about
the variety of circuits using a single transistor - the cascode offers at least
that many variations.

Nelson,
Is the purpose of the modulation to ensure that the cascode device dos not kill the nature of the device it protects? It is after all, the nature of your new parts you are trying to preserve, achieving higher power levels at the same time.
edit:
Do they retain their unique nature used as source followers, or is common drain the way they are best used?

whazzat ?
it's either too good weed to be true , or you mixed up threads ?

what special parts , in XS ?
there are no special parts , just wakoo mind using almost ordinary ones

( writing like that , ppl would say that you're certainly asymptotically close to ZM's kwayzeeness )

Please do not say that.
please , nothing involving ........ skin ?

Read the brochure (No Skin, just Audio porn). I'm a little perplexed about the Push-Pull/Single ended Bias Bis??? I've heard(read) talk about it. I've seen a patent with such an idea I beleive but, never seen it in practice, I don't think? Of coarse because it might be in a current product I might not get any response? But then, is the patent expeired for that too? 😀
same principle tweakers are using for burdening OP output
Pa wrote several times about that
you can use whatever part you want , be it passive or active solution
