If you want to use TOSHIBA or LINEAR SYSTEMS JFETs for this active
crossover, then you will need a lot of them. Sounds expensive to me.
And first you have to know if Nelson Pass is using complementary N- and P-Channel JFETs or only the N-Channel JFETs. I f he uses the same or similar topology as in the LX-MINI- crossover, then you would only need N-Channel - JFETs.
For each bufferstage 1 N-Channel for the signal + 1 N-Channel as constant current source.
Something you will have to know and think about?
And the picture I saw from his pcb shows a lot of buffer stages.

Hi Dirk,
Thanxs for ur answer, its fine... if i have seen right in store they are available!?
Regards
Alex
I can only see the LX in the store, not the B4-variant.
Stereo 6-24 db/oct biamp requires 24 N channel Jfets. The cheapest Jfets are the
J113's, and the most expensive are 2SK170. Even more expensive are
complementary 2SK170 / 2SJ74.
The J113's are pretty well suited to this if you are willing to match them and
provide Source resistors for the current source Fets.

Can the LSK170 be used? What grade of the 2SK2170 or LSK170?
