Great, cus i'm also interested hesener...
Also, have you been thinking about the balanced output stage that calvin posted?

Also in for the Calvin Buffer, Alfred!!
Abraxas: Very nice build!! I like the industrial Look!!

what about the heat of the Heatsink? Doesn't it cook the upper board? And what about the drift of the transistors...the upper board is exposed to much more heat...
Actually I was thinking to do it the way you did, because of footprint...but my thoughts went to the heatproblem, if it exists 😀

Another one built for a friend.
Time to leave phonostages for a bit. I've got a pair of Raal Tweeters that need integrating with my NS1000m's
Come on Alfred, why do you do that? we want the Calvin Buffer!
Is the little PCB double sided?

Hi Frans,
in a previous post it was stated that the input voltage have to be between 25 and 26 V. Now, you say minimum 26 and SQ have 28 V. That add quite some heat to the power transistors.
So, it's better with 26-27 volts?

Hi,
Something like: Come on You little su***r. Get up and going, or I´ll have Your 6-lettered butt fried to a crispy crunch by the next lightning!"
Well, if That doesn´t help ......

I could ask mild mannered Calvin´s alter ego Stupendous Man to take Buffers from Alfred send to me to a Blackforest mountain in a thunderous night and speak a stupendous motivation sermon.Come on Alfred, why do you do that? we want the Calvin Buffer!

@audiomania - I used the paradise only yesterday for a longer period and it got too hot for my taste. I consider venting the lid.

Using a shunt supply (any 🙂) always creates the need for a ventilated box. The Paradise shunt is not different 😀

This has been discussed may times 🙂 the 26Vdc is the absolute minimum, different people have reported no improvements above this. Up to 28Vdc is allowable (each Volt adds 150mW dissipation) but be sure to have a well ventilated case. (Case not closed 🙂).
