These are phono stage boards "without" the supply regulators, and with the regular output stage.
(Yes, we made phono-only boards as well as regulator-only boards back in the days..... the majority however was the complete thing on one PCB)

@ stephan, you have the regular boards (albeit V2), with the "normal" output drivers but including the supply regulators.

I find it quite surprising which boards are surfacing, and where 😀 It seems that - so far - the V3 boards are not coming up much for sale / swap, might be an indication that people are happy with them.....

@hesener I was going to use them but went the valve route. They have been sitting with other PCB's in my garage. I seem to buy them and then never do anything with them. Ha! If anyone is interested, let me know.
😀 believe me I know the feeling..... having a "few" unfinished projects lying around myself.... latest example being a valve phono stage I am working on since 2012(!)..... just not enough hours in the day!

Interesting you got them from Joachim. As I had organized the group buy, I know that most people bought one set, but there were a few people who bought more, I think the highest number was 5 sets, so I am pretty sure there must still be boards circulating somewhere that have not been assembled yet.

IMHO, thorough cleaning before assembly (to make sure those solder joints work) will help a lot!

In this case circuit minus is in reality circuit ground, not the negative rail obviously 🙂

And this is not a cure for all... one should also look for other potential loops in the system.

I'm still struggling with a Hum on the left channel (and I think a very minor buzz on both channels). Using a Michell Gyrodec with an RB300 tonarm, which uses the left RCA shield as its GND. So the GND channel causes hum.
  • The Gyrodec chassis is connected to tonearm GND, but not to mains earth.
  • Paradise is a 2-box, 1-transformer setup. The signal GND is connected to chassis/mains earth via a 10k resistor.
  • Preamp (aikido 24V) is floating
  • I don't recall the grounding scheme of the Pass F5 which forms the power amp.
Spent a lot of time on this last year already but the hum remains.... I cannot figure out where there could be a ground loop.
