Old Soul

@ MZM, l like the fact you keep your PCBs HASL... Too many bling bling PCBs these days and people forget that under that ultra thin flash of 'gold' is nickel while they pay premium to avoid nickel in their connectors and resistors 😀 And we will avoid talking about the potential gold migration issue... these amplifiers are mostly for short-term usage anyway.

Post #4 shows ZM is using the same flux remover than I do 😉

that's bottle of Pear Brandy , home made by my Best Man (OK , he's having Degree for all sorts of Industrial Distillations) and it stands on my bench to remind me of taking it home, but I'm always forgetting

I'm not cleaning flux from soldering, using only proper lead solder with some Cu

when soldering SMD, I'm using mild helper flux, no cleaning needed........ but I'm applying it in abundance, so after hot-air-ing it looks ugly, then I remove it with plain etyl alcohol ..... and - frankly - sometimes even not

Not cleaning the residues that remain on a pcb, are considered a defect for all classes (1,2, and 3) per IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standard. We wouldn't want any dendritic growth or electromigration would we? You're under arrest Zen, don't resist.... 😛😛😛

records - I was picky, allowing just LPs in my realm

later, when I realized my needs are bigger than my LP acquisition capabilities - digital, all sorts except MP3

my all day music vehicle is rare gem - sole FM station program I'm finding worthy more than second of my time - Radio Belgrade 2/3 - that's strictly Culture/Music based

then any sort of source I can plug in my Ultramatch 2496 (xformers and blingies in output after DA)

on the wall EMT930, patiently waiting for my own RIAA pre, which I'm postponing several years
