Question about the PCB to RCA connection wire
I have some 99.99 % solid silver tonearm wire the gauge is very small
Would that be suitable ?
Anything from 24ga to 30ga works well. I use 24ga solid silver for connections and for interconnects.
That cookbook is a nice one! Ordered it 👍👍
Where did you order from? Cant find it on Amazon. Thanks. nash
Yes, as long as you can work with it and it's not too fragile.
I've made ICs with 38 gauge enameled wire.
Thanks
It's actualy very good to work with
Have used it on a tonearm upgrade and some crossover connections
And I have the suitable tubeing to use as well

I would say that it's about that gauge range but closer to 30

Ordered it on tubestate(see link in ZenMod post)

Conclusion: 24 to 30 AWG, solid core is the way to go for low power signal. [emoji106]

I used to use pure silver 28-30AWG wire, I still has enough for a while.....
I do tried a very similar wire purchased from USA Ebay and compare to the expensive pure silver these is a great deal and sound great. Purchased several years back (reason I write very similar)
Artistic Wire Silver Plated Champagne Color 26 Gauge 30 Yard Spool 43234 Round | eBay
You should ask for 30AWG if you would like thinner wire. The good think these does not need tubing very similar to the magnet wire..

All this thin wire talk is interesting.Signals arriving at the same time etc. What about the coax from the pre amp to the power amp, usually its a few feet long.Isn't the 4 inches of thin solid wire made moot by that?

Do you use somekind of screening when using this? Or just tight twisting? I mean for interconnects.

I always use coax cable for signal wire, canare LV77s for IC and LV61s inside chassis. Anyone use silver or gold solid wire from jewelery workshop instead of those branded one? Forget about voodoo wire like audionote or cardas
Since we are wandering around O.T., I recall that the system I first took to
RMAF needed long interconnects from preamp to amp, and we had noise
issues, both in the test system at home and the one at the show. Nothing I
did would make it go away. However I had ordered up some silver
interconnects from Kimber for the occasion, and when I installed them, the
noise totally disappeared, an example of a definitive, if expensive, audio improvement.

My Allen Wright DIY silver ribbon IC were just as good a a $5000 pair of Shunyata ICs. The owner of the Shunyata ICs though so too. 🙂

Vince, where did you buy the silver ribbon. Thanks. nash

No screening. A twist about 9in to a foot. No hum with 8ft interconnects from my AVC to mono F5TV3.

Message me. I don't want to hijack this thread any longer. Happy to answer your questions.
Thx

Since I am using approx 30 AWG solid silver wire for the RCA connections
Would the same wire be suitable for the speaker output connection as well
Or go with the original plan of using Jantzen silver plated copper wire with Teflon
I have a choice of 13 & 16 AWG

Finally got my M2 powered up. It uses Grimberg's boards, 2SK1530 & 2SJ201 and a CLC power supply, based on an Antek 500Va 18V transformer. Bias current is 1.8A, and after 25 minutes or so the heat sinks are pretty steady at around 50ºC. DC offset is 0.6mV, and doesn't seem to be affected at all by the trimpot. The only thing that seems a little odd is that the power supply rails are only about 20.8V instead of 22-24V. Haven't tried to listen yet.
