For what kind of amp would the TKS17R52 be suitable? It is high voltage/relatively low current. Use it like a tube, with output transformer? This would be a high cost design, so may as well use a real tube…

@maximax77 not sure. According to the data sheet its a 150w part. I speculate the TSK17R54 is the 2SK2087C. See my post for picture.
For size comparison to regular FET see this post.

looks like the wild goose chase regarding the Tokin TKS17R52 and TKS15R52 has led nowhere. I contacted @pras1170 and asked regarding the website from Shenzen that claimed to have it in stock, she told me that its probably fake. 
Bummer. Maybe one day we will find a hiddeb stash of these in asia.
