Have you guys heard the new version of 'Thick as a Brick ' ? After the original one I thought it would be a hard act to follow. Didn't like the new one instantly ( like I did the old one ) but as I keep hearing it , it's growing on me !

Iggy & the Stooges - Ready to Die ...
From the library, a 2013 release - as you'd expect from Iggy, the man behind the most savagely clipping remastering on record, this has songs with the foot hard down to the metal - but this one has been professionally done, so the underlying sound is very clean. But, the volume has to be dropped way, way down for a poor, small amp to cope ... 🙂
Also, some surprisingly melodic numbers ...

Listening to my recently acquired NM OP of the "Buddy Holly Lives" LP
It's a collection of 20 of his hits released in 1978
It's amazing when you realize that the songs were recorded almost sixty years ago and Buddy was killed when he was only 22 years old..
No, neither Buddy or the Crickets were great musicians but Buddy was an innovator way ahead of his time. Listening to it, you realize how others later copied little things he done in their own songs to one extent of another. He also had a classic R&R voice.
IMO it's a must have in any rock collection, either in vinyl or a CD version. 🙂

Just picked up a nos copy of King Crimsion Beat...Japanese release. Happy to retire my original 30 year old copy.
