Now Playing + What are you listening to?

The Mavericks, Gold - modern country. In contrast to a recording that I mentioned in another thread, this has heavily processed drums, emphasising the punchiness, with huge reverb.

This means that the sound is extremely "in yer face!" - on an 'unforgiving' system this will drill holes through your eardrums, right through to the other side - the last thing you would think of with country, normally!!

Is it a bad recording? No, it's a "difficult" one, meaning that everything has to be right in the playback, and then it's quite spectacular, would get everyone on the dance floor, quick smart ... 😉

A blast from the past..😀

Jeff Buckley - Mystery White Boy, live tour material, recorded on DAT - from the library. Not into this bloke at all, the audiophile's darling ... 😉

Surprisingly noisy, DAT or poor console electronics? Guitar work extremely grungy a lot of the time, not my type at all, 🙂.

Can see what the fuss is about, when he puts a bit of effort into keeping his voice melodic - the music is neither here nor there, stadium fodder material.
