Three years ago, the best was the Japanese mono 1975 reissue. After the SACD mono 2014 and third the XRCD stereo 1998. Now, with the second system sounding like never the difference has increased.
The three are very good but the vinyl is superb!

Nothing so highbrow as the Cookie Monster’s, but I just dug myself out of a shallow rabbit hole - ran across a YouTube playlist of music from GOT - including an all electric guitar version the opening theme - something a bit fitting about all those axes with Valyrian steel strings.
Ramin Djawadi is a freakin genius. For the me benchmark of a great soundtrack is one that instantly transports you back to that space/time. John Williams and Maurice Jarre did that, and I humbly submit we add Ramin’s name to that list.

The 12" vinyl from MFSL is much pleasurable. You enjoy it, you taste it.
My hypothesis: they jumped tons of jitter during the remastering. Another example of how the best technology is wasted!
Question: How do we measure the jitter that has been incorporated into the audio?
When I detect this problem, I try to solve it with a new recoding. In this case: SSRC 24/88 Intermediate 94%.
