To me. Dave doesn't drink. I will accept all alcohol on his behalf.
Chris accepts alcohol too but he is less seasoned. Always remember to put the cap on the bottle or you might find it has mysteriously evaporated, right Chris?

Thanks for keeping us posted. It is indeed good to know that there are still people in the world who genuinely care about others.

Hi Calhoun,
I think all Chris' suffer from evaporating alcohol. We just can't figure out why it always happened near us.
I'll take a shot and think on that one.

All good news
Thanks Cal and Chris. We got about 30cm of snow over the last 2 days. I suspect Ruth got a lot as well. She will need some help clearing that 100m+ driveway.
I am looking forward to hearing from Dave in the near future.

You couldn't send any of that snow over to the UK could you? We haven't had much for the past 3 years.
Good to hear Dave is waking up a bit.
Ruth should pamper herself while she can!
Chuckling inside to remember that he was polite and even complimentary in response to seeing pics of my somewhat over-the-top, big, multi-driver open baffle speakers.
We had a bit of snow in the Puget Sound area, but no 30cm worth(had to do the math to figure that out---backward Yankee here)

All the local Shibas would love to have all that snow. It's pretty much all gone now from Vic.

I think the neighbor might have a Bobcat.

He's really chomping at the bit to get on with the next surgery.

I know, I love the response I get when I bring some big boys to play. 🙂big, multi-driver <snip> speakers.
Left a message for Ruth earlier, hopefully the delay is because she is able to enjoy herself.
Just checking in to see who may have gotten to visit Dave and hear how he's doing. It certainly sounds as if he's steadily improving,
which is truly great news.

I believe the visits are still limited and his energy level is the reason. No return call from Ruth so I'll call later.
Lot's of snow here on the mainland. Another 10cm overnight. Funny though, downtown has no snow and the 'burbs got nailed. Can't even go to the office until the hill is plowed.

Ruth will likely have missed a couple of days visits due to the weather - that twisty little goat trail gets mighty treacherous when the temp wavers either side of freezing. Frozen slush + narrow paved shoulders = skating rink + demo derby .
I hope to stop by on him this evening, and if he can't already feel all the positive energy directed his way, will certainly let him know.

Being Canuck is more a state of mind than an accident of birth
State of mind as in really cold with all this Siberian arctic air!!! Get well soon to Dave. Thanks for keeping us all in the loop Chris. Regards moray james.
late fall on the wet west coast - just tons of fun
glad we didn't decide to make a storm watching trip to Tofino this year

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Best Wishes for a speedy recovery, Dave. Having spent five months in hospital last year ... I had to learn to walk again ... I know how important it can be to know people are with you all the way. And we are.
I'm a little surprised to hear there is no public WiFi at the hospital.

Johnny - knowing him as well as anyone here, and after my one short visit so far, I'd be inclined to say that in Dave's case, non-access to the internet during the next several months of his recovery could be a blessing in disguise.

I agree.🙂 Hopefully, he's get his leg fixed up this week, and that will give him something to look forward to in the short term.

Maybe even some nice Village Restaurant grade soup & salad or rice bowls? Those need to stay on the menu.
Do you know he's gone for almost 5 weeks without a coffee of any type?
I've told him he's on more than a few folks' minds - although I'm not sure if his "Spidysense" has yet tuned into all the good vibes, so squeeze your loved ones a little tighter my friends, and that should break the miasma that can start rolling in like a December morning mist bordering on freezing rain.
Yah- we've had some more fickle wet coast late autumn weather again, and I'm starting to wax a bit philosophical here- which trust me, is all anyone needs to think about getting waxed.
That's for a totally other persona and forum login😉

Best wishes to Dave and Ruth...
I became aware of this situation some time ago but out of respect and the need for privacy did not further this information at the behest of some very close and caring people in Dave's life. As it appears to be common knowledge now, I'll add my name to the public best wishes ...
