The edges towards the right were a bit blurred coz as I posted before the pj is placed on the floore in a sort of skewed angled, so I had to place the fresnels accordingly and the left side of the fresnel is closer to the triplet than it should be.
So to get a straight rectangular image, i had to accept that blurring. But when you see in real life, its not much i'll say however i'm trying to fix the problem.
Guys, suggest some options....

Hitachi display data sheets

Was searching data sheets of Hitachi LCD displays. Found the following pages interesting 😉

Hitachi LCD display data sheets STN type

hitachi TFT

Thought it would be useful as super LCD uses Hitachi LCD panels

Vijay, is your LCD panel data sheet listed in the above link? The model no will be printed behind the panel if i am right. Your display is 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio?

By the way i got hold of the triplets on last Saturday from

link : OPTICS & Allied ENGG PVT LTD

Quality is very good. I experimented by projecting my 21 inch CRT TV image on to the wall 😀 . Took a card board box and made a hole in the center and put it in front of my tv. The full screen of the T.V was visible inverted.Focus was sharp. The focal length of the lens is 317 mm.

Happy building🙂 🙂

This image shows the CFL Back light (the white box like thing)removed from the LCD . For doing this first you should remove the glue which sticks the LCD driver board (the smaller PCB behind the LCD screen) and detach the driver board from the back light. We did it by cutting the bond using a razor blade. Then there are a couple of tabs to be opened which connects the back light to the LCD . It is pretty easy. Take care not to scratch the LCD and take extra care with the FFC between the LCD and driver board.Sorry I could not get pictures of all the steps.

Here's a question to all using a 7" panel. Is the screen door effect bugging you ppl as i sit abt at a 6 feet dist. from the screen and the lines are quite visible. I tried defocussing the image a bit, the lines were gone but then the loss of sharpness started bothering me so i focussed it back.
Any possible soln. or a way out??

P.S : My honeymoon with the pj is over, now she seems fat and ugly, bowed fresnels are bothering me, screen door effect became apparent. In short, still quite a lot is to be done.

7 inch may not be good

Hi all thought to share this info with all.

I am hunting for the LCD for my projector and was doing lot of googling. I actually wanted a 7 inch LCD because of the low cost and small size. But the fact is 90% of the 7 inch LCD in the market has the the resolution of 480 x 232 which is really bad 🙁 . Guess the screen door effect faced by Atri is because of low resolution and black border after each pixel. The specification may be 1440x232 DOTS. That is a trick it is actually [(480x3 ) x (232)] the 3 is for RGB 😡.I personally feel that 640 x 480 should be the minimum resolution for Projection purposes. Now i am looking at 10 inch display, like the one vijaycool has found : 10 inch (800x600).Hope to get the same model, waiting to hear from him.

Also i welcome feedback from people who have used 7 inch displays earlier.

Regards,
Gitesh

thats the reason i didnt use 7 inch lcd bcos i have seen both lcd performance side by side. I believe the shopkeeper told me there is one more tv in 13 inch range with 1024*768. He is telling the price is around 8k. In my pj work i am using lcd parts as much as possible coz if this project is not succesful my dad want the lcd back. So i am using the lcd frame. @banglore guys: i want to audition ur pj work. Is this possible?
