New party project Best use for this driver

I just picked up a cheap driver to use for another party box. My computer is still giving trouble with Excel so I'm asking for a little help in the best use of this generic 18"
Re 5.9
Fs 33Hz
Qes 0.522
Qms 5.437
Qts .476
Le 0.7
Vas 250 litres
Looks like 4" voice coil and about 6mm X-Max and I'd guess 10mm X-damage
Driver needs a vacuum and wipe off but it was only $100-
My first thoughts were to mass load it a bit and just shove it in a smallish sealed box and I'll probably need a bigger amp to drive it and near enough is good enough, and I may have to get another Behringer CX unit for it, unless I can find a S/H Hypex amp of course

When folks say 'party', I default to the pioneer's Vas/1.44, Fb = 1.56x Fs for a powerful mid bass and max power handling from a low Xmax (>120 dB/m/50 Hz - up/2pi/600 W), so 'smallish' by my standards, but huge today at 174 L.

I'm using 200 litre plastic drums for some of my sub projects so 170 litres plus or minus 10% meets my own definition of small
What about mms and sensitivity?
What is a party box in your use? You have just 1 of these, so it is going a sub with two satelites?
I think this will be a standalone mono box, using the 15" CHUN organ speaker as the midbass OB
But as always plans are subject to change without notice. I've just mod-podged the driver and I'll restest after the PVA dries, just in case there is a change in parameters.
Using satellites is a good idea and I have a couple here as I already use twin subs with them, after all it's hard to have too much bass for parties IMO

I don’t find that the T/S numbers we diyers measure to be as useful as factory numbers. And, admitted by author, DATS uses the guess from the impedance curve instead of measuring parameters directly. And it seems QC of the measure device based on used feedbackis not great.

A woofer like this has unknown origin, it may look like others but that says little.

The sets of numbers actually vary little.

Safe to use GM’s cabinet suggestion.

Using the set of numbers after you PVAed (a very good move) — if the 2 measures were done at teh same time i would say you must have used a lot, but weather alone could explain the differences.

A BIG box. Not vented. looks like a reasonable size box would need to be aperiodic. Even then 150 litres would be smallish. Ignoring the need for not too big, y first choice would be 300 litres sealed.

I see no reasonable vented boxes given the available data.

I knew it wasn't going to be the best driver when I paid for it.
Certainly not worth the current retail asking price
It certainly isn't a SUB-Woofer as I define the term
But then party boxes don't need to be best quality and GMs advice for midbass kick is noted and appreciated.
It's all part of the learning curve for me but an 18 certainly moves a lot more air than a 15 which was the point of the purchase.

I wish it would stop raining, storming and flooding here.
I started work on cutting some ply and chipboard when the heavens opened up again and I got seriously rained on.
I've got enough scrap ply etc to do a box of about 190 litres.
It this works I may decide to buy new plywood etc.
The scrap situation might mean using a shelf port rather than a cardboard tube, would a shelf port need any fibre damping or do I leave it open and clear.
What ever I do I'll need insect screening to keep the redbacks [ Black Widows from California- a goldrush invader] out of the box, damn spiders are breeding like crazy with the current wet weather

Ya'll must be getting all our rain, what with a 'banner' year for forest/brush' fires, parched lawns, paint 'baked' off wood siding houses. 🙁

FWIW, I've historically used pet screen to keep out critters (has even withstood a rabid Raccoon attack with nary a rip/tear) with the ~ side benefit of somewhat 'critically' damping the vent.

Yeah, my life in typical suburban homes has been filled with Black Widows, Brown Recluse among other, more beneficial, spiders; been bit so many times as far back as I can remember that they barely leave a red spot nowadays and real glad ya'll been keeping your Sydney Funnel-Web spiders close to home!
