Finally got them in some boxes. Best cardboard speakers i’ve ever heard. (Not sure why my pics are loading sideways)

type,
Have fun playing the speakers in their cardboard houses. 🙂
You still thinking Nostromo bookshelf for theses drivers or ready to take on a larger cabinet project?

Thanks man 😀
Yeah, I think the BR box might be tighter, but I also like the Pensils (a lot). My CHP-70’s were in floor standing Mltl type boxes, which had surprising bass.
I’m considering the possibility of using parts express knockdown cabinets with theses:
Denovo Audio Knock-Down MDF 0.56 cu. ft. Bookshelf Speaker Cabinet
Good or bad idea?

Oh, good idea if tuned appropriately and you can get them cheaply. If I can take this opportunity of making a general request to the thread: please do not build any enclosure I have designed for them. You will find many alternatives which are preferable.
MDF ugg. But they are cheap.
For a bit more Bob Berners could probably do a flat-pak out of BB (or similar) specific to the driver with rebates and everything.

Curious. Why would you encourage seeking other designs?

I know, I’m not a huge fan of mdf, especially cutting it myself. I’d be very interested in a flat pack for these.

To ensure people build a high quality design.

The Nostromo was/is still my firsrt choice for these, just exploring pre-cut options that may work with these drivers. If Madisound sold a flat-pack of the Nostromo I would already be waiting for the glue to dry.
I strongly advise you not to build one of my designs (such as Nostromo). Please look into alternatives designed by competent parties. You will not regret doing so.
BTW, in the past I was adverse to metal cones, but as Dave, Chris, etc., noted in many different posts (including my own inquiries) about the metal coned Alpairs not sounding like metal cones, I have to say that the MA Alpair 11ms are silky smooth; there is absolutely nothing harsh or metal-like to the sound. Almost makes me want to snag a pair of A7.3’s before they’re gone.

I admit I am confused as to where to look.

Scratching my head. Did someone hack your user? This has a bizarre feel.....
Yah, his several like posts over the last day or so has me thinking something’s not quite cricket here.
Not really, I was just somewhat aggravated at being informed by somebody (not anyone here) that they know more about my own designs, their objectives, criteria etc. than I do myself. So I felt obliged to recommend everyone at least consider alternatives. Which speaking generally is good practice anyway, even if you do eventually come back to the original choice.
One of the downsides to the model with which you and Dave have chosen to share many of your designs - i.e. freely distributed via this site where I imagine counts of downloads might not be available? - is that you don’t know how many very satisfied builders of them may be out there.
Full disclosure for those not aware, I have been associated with this design team for well over a decade and have built scores of their enclosures for my own use and authorized resale. However, I don’t think that in any way diminishes their acumen, or the validity of those observation.
To paraphrase Andrew Robinson - the only one who needs to give a flying frack about the sound of your audio system is you.

I ended up getting the parts express boxes for now, which I’ll post an update on after I get them.
Would really appreciate input on what the optimum port size should be for these with the A11ms.
