“New Original” Alternate First Watt F5 Tribute Power Supply PCB

shipping money sent! Thank you so much!

BTW what is consensus on 25V caps for standard FW amps with 18V secondary? I always tried to use 35V, but I see Nelson uses 25V for all these years and I from what I know there is almost zero failure rate on FW/PL amps.

What is hole spacing for the 0R33, will 5W 24mm resistors fit?

KiCad Footprint:
Resistor_THT:R_Axial_DIN0516_L15.5mm_D5.0mm_P20.32mm_Horizontal

20.32mm hole spacing.

If you wanted to run one higher power resistor instead of 3 in parallel you could go diagonal. You get about 24mm instead of 20. Not much, but something. Or stand up one end of the resistor at an angle off of the board.

This nice supply board is particularly appropriate as I have a new version of F5 for diy on the drawing board and intended as a kit for the store.

:snail:

This made my day, Nelson!

To all beta testers - boards are all on the way. I just dropped off the last one at the post office moments ago. I think all of you should have a tracking email by now. If I forgot to put your email address in - rest assured the boards are in transit. Looking forward to feedback and comments.

New F5... Mr Pass is so productive, I think we need to find a way to change between allt those great amps on the fly and use the amps as a musical flavouring or spice depending on personal mood and music played at that moment 🙂
Forget tone controls and equalisers and change between different amplifier flavours in stead 😉

Let me know when boards are available for purchase. I have F5T in assembly now. A board like this would be so helpful. thanks

F5T v2 stereo? V3 and you want different boards for monos.

Let’s see the feedback from beta testers. I imagine by June-ish I should have feedback and can implement any changes, then run a group buy.

My boards also arrived today - thanks Randy! I like that center grounded bridge ground board 🙂

Thanks for the idea on that ground board! I applied the KISS principle. The whole thing is my head twists into knots when wiring that, so the board was born. I can’t be alone with that dilemma.
