Doesn't seem to be the case. The Pluvia 11 costs as much as the Alpair 10M and 10P before discount. The CHR and CHP-70 have arrestors but both are cheaper than the Pluvia 7. The spiderless Alpair 5 is more expensive than the bigger Pluvia 7. The only one not following this trend is the Alpair-7P.
Not looking good,as no info other than more cost, if that good it should be broadcast every where then you would make some money which is the name of the game

Spec sheets are in posts #63 and #64 of this thread.
Per above re the manufacturer data sheets. As a generalised observation re retail cost, prices for loudspeaker drive units that are sold through dealers are typically provided by them rather than the manufacturer, either when they have stock or start taking pre-orders, since this tends to vary due to differing national import duties & other taxes etc. I would assume (since I have no information to the contrary) that this would apply to these units.

I can never resist the temptation to say this about manufacturing and supply-chain logistics - there are always a lot more "moving parts" than might seem at first glance. Certainly the case considering the vagaries of international shipping, uncertainty as to government tariffs, local sales taxes, etc, ad nauseam .
OK, a few of you have asked either via PM or in this thread about price. I've just worked it out and they will be as follows for the UK/EU market.
Alpair 7 MS Gold and Grey will be £150 per pair inc VAT
Alpair 11 MS Gold and Grey will be £115 each inc VAT
The first few will land in a fortnight or so.

That 11 MS seems to be in line with A 12P pricing, reasonable to me and definitely less then Fostex special editions of similar size.Alpair 7 MS Gold and Grey will be £150 per pair inc VAT

Do you want to re-read that before I answer? 🙂

Some have already been posted elsewhere, but probably worth adding them here also, for personal use.
A couple of desktop labyrinths also done; Dave is working on proper plans for all (my drawing ability being somewhere south of 'inept’)

There already is a Compact Monitor for Pluvia 11. Generally smaller than the one here.
Miscellaneous designs -Mark Audio, Fostex, TB, Dayton, Seas etc.

Thanks for all of those Scott.
Worth mentioning that the Pensil design is exactly the same as the current Pluvia 11 Pensil design and that the drivers dimensions are also the same so swaps are easy. Plans for that in metric are already on my site here - http://www.kjfaudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Pensil-11.pdf which if I remember right, the factory drew up as Dave was ill at the time.

mp9 - of interest to us on this side of the pond is what Madisound's stocking date / pricing strategy will be - which could well depend on their current inventory of Pluvias and non MS Alpair models

I think everyone knows by now that in the audio industry cost has far less to do with selling price and more to do with market position. Mark will never get rich selling drivers to us, we are penny pinching DIY people. He needs to generate a strong brand. If he wants to be positioned as a premium high-tech brand then he better charge enough money or people will under value his product. It's certainly true that with a spider they would be more expensive again. Mark is a big advocate of holding prices where he can, so the price of the old drivers to me hasn't increased at all over the years despite the cost of production increasing. A new driver means a lot of design man-hours and brand new tooling which means more cost, sorry 🙂
And us penny pinchers, after we take the time to build a nice cabinet in our garage, sanded and finished and proud in our house, why would we not spend the extra $ to put the best driver in it.

IMO, if early user reviews from the UK and thereabouts live up to expectations. Madisound would be shooting themselves in the foot if they were to drag their feet in hopes of selling down the current inventory of like drivers, of which I either have little interest in or already own.mp9 - of interest to us on this side of the pond is what Madisound's stocking date / pricing strategy will be - which could well depend on their current inventory of Pluvias and non MS Alpair models
Given that the A11 MS is pricier than the A10.3 (est $250/pr) there might be market for both.
I have A7MS and A11MS on order, but i didn’t get an ETA.
