Thanks,
I still have to disconnect it from the Variac, I will let you know how that goes.

And where did you get those vertical position plastic xfmr's holders?
That Capacitor Rack is for my Aelph-X project, I made it from scratch myself. That is 2 Farads of capacitance in that rack!!
The transformer holders were also something I made up, I machined some Delron from 2" stock to fit inside the core of a my Hammond Transformers. I drilled and tapped one side and fastened them to a plate also made of Delron, imagine the letter "T". Then I drilled and tapped into the back of the faceplate, not through the plate, just about .285" the plate is about .375" thick. I also drilled and tapped a through hole for the mounting bolt to clamp the transformer on. I made two of them as this chassis is made for Dual power supplies eventually.
I also made some brackets for potted transformers as seen in the attached Photo

Thanks, see photo I added above for another version I made.

Did you build an Aleph 30? or Aleph5 or mini?
PierreG
I built two mono Aleph 5's, that are now on a boat to Oz as i am about to move over there i only had them for two days prior to packing them up.

Well I have my BrianGT Mini A's running for 72 Hours now on +/- 16VDC rails, I can honestly say I would not be afraid to touch the output FET's with my tounge!!
What I am I doing wrong???
The Rectifiers on Brian's PSU warm up nicely, the transformer warms up, first time I ever had a toroid warm up, I have 10mV DC offset on both channels.
Someone remind me how I calculate the output power again, I use the Vdrop across which resistor to figure the current draw and multiply that by the rail voltage??

I told you ther tranny will get warm mine is a 600va and it gets warm.. also my brige rectifier gets warm too. :O ) mine are running at 18.5V Rail's and the heat sinks get warm but all is good 1 week so far up and running no problems at all. and .06mv dc off set..

Yeah, nice trailer post. 🙂
Can you answer my question regarding calculating output power?

Well I must say I am very impressed with the Mini A performace, what Detail from a 10Watt amp, My wife was listening to my favourtie Hily Cole CD with me and she asked why I had tghe centre channel speaker hooked up? I told her it was not, it's just the new amp doing an excellent job with the imaging.
Now which way do I go with R13 to crank up the Bias? I am considering going to a 15-0-15 transformer in place of the 12-0-12 ones I am running now. I have a very high AC Line Voltage here, about 122VAC. I plan on sticking with just the two FET version for now.
Any suggestions?

Anyone looking for snap in caps for Brian's PSU boards?
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58358
Also I have some IRFP250 FETs $3US ea. I can only match them to some pairs and a few sets of three. Good for Mini A's no matching required.

No answers on what to do with R13 to increase Bias? Is anyone following this thread? Am I the only one who has successfully got a finished amp out of these boards?

Glad to hear it Roddy! 🙂
How is your patience holding out with the XBOSOZ project?

O.K., let's see. R13 in the mini A is R19 in the A30 and A5 - the DC bias, increase resistance raises the bias.
