I suppose you cannot make a tweeter go woof, but the limits would be mechanical. I always wondered how they get sub woofers into such small box. It is easy, you force it. It is like convincing a lizard that he is a crocodile, well if he does not believe you, you beat him until he believes to be a crocodile
A friend some years back bought a headphone tuner. In SW you tell it what headphones you have and then select what other brand you want them to sound like, by model number, and it did so.
Yes, several:Do you have any recommendations of cool 3-way stand mounters or floor standing active system builds?
LX-Mini - this can be run both with ASP or DSP, so that is another option for diving into a new area for the fun of it.
- If you are considering floor stands anyway, these are then integrated already ;-)
Pi-Speakers, for the non active build I think the 2Pi and 3Pi would still be just about ok for size.
I have not build these but the 4Pi's in a slightly different version, with the possibility to use both passive (external) and active filters.
These were joined in the corners using Festool dominos, but I've also used bisquit joining a lot on other builds in the past. I can recommend both, (best option depends on the board dimensions and how much slack/support you need from the bisquits/dominos for your build).
Now, these are made from 40mm solid oak, and sandwich-built front and back's = they weigh in at 105kg each incl. the filter. ...and the wheels 😆 Performance is spectacular...
Unless you particularly want to buy the complete kit of the Gravesen speakers, I cannot see any limitation on getting identical parts locally except for the drivers.

L pad for the woofer?
no baffle step considered?
crossover calculators without considering the rising impedance curves?

I like Rod Elliptt's page very much! And of course he mentions impedance compensation necessary for calculated crossovers.
still, I suggest to use simulation tools for crossover development.

My subjective review on the YTmac-05.
Speaker placement around 8’6” apart and 44” from rear wall. Slightly towed in around 3/4”
Playing Bad Bunny ‘MIA’ for my low bass track (careful on the volume). The low bass fills the room well for a 5” I’m very pleased with the bass. Playing Donald Fagen ‘morph the cat’ the bass stays tight and loud with no chuffing of the port which any speaker I build MUST DO or there scrapped.
Playing 2Pac ‘dear mama’ for upper bass low midrange as Pac should stay exactly in the center of the stage I thought his gurgling voice sounded perfect while handling the (rap) bass notes. Also playing Eric Godoy’s “Aeris” for the low strings in this. I thought the strings sounded just thick enough and the background chatter (recorded in a bar) is still very audible.
For mine and many others I’m sure, i played the usual vocal artists. I believe the staging is open and does stretch well beyond the speaker placement Amber Rubarth “full moon in Paris” and with the speaker out at 5ft they almost disappear. With the speaker, I really tried to make the mid range and top end very neutral. The only hot sounding music would be some 80s hard rock like Kix, Autograph and Headpins certain songs.
Like I said, this is subjective obviously, but I will be keeping these so they will be at DDIY and Iowa 2024.
