so while the neighbours were out i gave the amp a good ramp up, and ran it at about 3/4 volume for at least 10 mins
so the temperature is def evidence the heatsink addition has improved the dispersion and quite a high outside ambient today (26c)

So we are not done with this yet. The lettering is proving difficult, it's the colouring, I've tried white and it just doesn't work on the series 20, it would on the A and B versions as they changed the style. So I'm trying different dying techniques to get the right colour
Oh that looks good. I think a dull red every time tbh to keep the colour scheme the same although if you like the blue then you could always fit a blue power LED.
another vote for red... blue one just screams out (imagine it with red power and reds power meter)

I agree red it isanother vote for red... blue one just screams out (imagine it with red power and reds power meter)![]()
so all finished
Entier amp stripped down to bare bones
upgraded heatsink
totaly rewired in pure copper/high temp silicon coated cable(doesnt shrink whilst you solder)
completly recapped with high quality caps (mainly wurth(they are the red ones) and nichicon
power supply/regulated supply caps uprated
conversion to the new TIP's
all new gold connections on rear
solid brass pre/power amp connection bars
Gold plug ins replace the old grab terminals
cover re sprayed in hammerite
soft clip LED to front panel-the LED is an original in its holder and a tight squre peg in a round hole sits nice and tight, but is easily removable
writing isnt perfect, but neither was the original, each individual letter is applied by hand , but i will find a better way next time(there isnt many solutions for this)
quite please with this as it happens
took a while but it was worth it.
