Sure, you could do lots of things. This is just how Mauro did it, nice and simple.
One nice thing about the design as is, it can use a relatively small heatsink. The increase in voltage will not yield a lot more power. It will also limit the loads it can drive.

Brian, you are right. The spec numbers are measured at even lower voltage for 4 ohm load (28V DC). So best to choose the right transformer or regulate
Just curious, anybody who knows why Mr. Penasa did choose LM318 as input opamp? It's quite old and not at the top 10 list.

Because of the way it exposes the compensation network which is critical to the design.
He actually goes into detail about this in the PDF.
It is possible to use other opamps, but it requires some changes. I don't really recommend it. The LM318 is well suited to the task.

I don't see particularly many parts which has to do with this, only one 100pF. It is interesting design though.Russ White said:

I would direct your question directly to Mauro, he is easily contacted.
FWIW I made the design work with OPA627 many moons ago. It worked just fine, but I had to change the compensation slightly to keep it stable.

can you contact me. Apparently my account is under moderation so I cannot email you directly. I am interested in 2 kits and have added my name to the wiki.
Thanks

Kelly,
The buy is closed. But stick around. We are going to ask all buyers for their money in a day or two and if we end up with less buyers than expected then you can feel free to sign up for 2 or more.
The only reason is that we are not trying to run a store here 🙂 Just wanted to get a few kits out and keep it a hobby not a business. So, while you are only one person I have had at least 20 similar requests and we just dont want to do more than what we have committed to.

Uriah, it could be a good idea to clearly state which columns the member should edit and which are reserved for the organizers. Things can get messy, faster than you know.
