Im living in Argentina, and you find somes golds here , and the cost is similar to beymas (700 - 1000 uss).
Congratulations for your hard work.
Federico.

Hola Federico! 🙂

Glad you find the thread. I saw your old thread only recently but did not want to disturb your peacefull life 😉

Yeah! We are looking very often to movies now, with friends...and " lomitos" and beers! :drink: :drunk:

Oh! if you find some good pair of golds for that money please tell me so

What are you using as amps? I remember you use passive crossover. If so, try active biamping 😉 Though the Tannoy CX is not so intruding, I believe active CX gets the best driver control 😎 , plus you can alter HF and LF output.

Congratulations for your hard work.

Many thanks, my friend. I already forgot the pain.
I'm planning a reduced replica 2:3 or a "square" Autograph.
I really love them. It's hard to go back to "normal" speakers. I am thinking seriously about selling my "definition 500".

Best regards.
Mauricio.

PS: "huevón" is accepted now by the Real Academia de la Lengua Española. It is supposed to mean "friend" 😉

PS2: sorry for the World Cup outcome :bawling: :clown:

Hola, i am using a Mcintosh c32 preamp w/built in power for monitor propouses (12w per cannel) for audio and yamaha dspA2 for home theater.
You try to find in the yahoo group of tannoy, at this moment one of his member is selling a pair and want buyer.
Nos Vemos (Mundial? Cual Mundial?:bawling: :bawling: :bawling: )

I will post some photos, hopefully of better quality (analog cam)
Now that the rainy season is almost gone I will finish the varnish part 🙂

I have been following this thread with interest.

First congrats maxlorenz on your build!:smash:

I have some HPD 385's and am looking to upgrade the 'box'

Are there any benifits to having a front loaded horn without all the rear bits?

I am in love with my midband but the bass is a bit lacking - I started a thread on Sub integration to see about augmenting the bass with a Sub or 2. I thought that it may allow the mid and highs to really sing😱

Hi Max,
don't solder to the cone end of the tinsel leads.

The connector end of the tinsel leads should be used as your connection points.
But take care not to load up the tinsel ( by letting solder wick down the lead) or it will stiffen up and soon break off when the remaining flexible portion has to absorb all the cone movement. (no distortion when this happens - the output is absolutely clean, no artefacts and no sound)
