Yellow sheet mod. With HV Schottky and little 2R2 resistors (Thought they were 68R) feeding them from the hv taps.

Nope. I used to have them. They are in a landfill somewhere now. I just like the idea of relieving the rectumfryers as Joe Rosen used to say.
Here are a few photos of an all film cap build I did of the SE84CS. I also put in a switch to choose between Russian Teflon and Mundorf Silver and Oil coupling caps.I really like the idea of an all-film cap power supply using Vishay or Wima DC-link caps. Maybe when I eventually do a nice SE amp I'll try it out. Something like this build is a good place to go for it.
Here’s the link to the build…

I avoid binding posts with so much metal. If it wasn’t a collectors item i would lose the expensive copper posts on my SIT-3.

^ Nice.
I've used Solen in the past, but prefer to use non-audio marketed parts generally, as they generally present better value for the same or better specifications. I've been looking at stuff like these. It would be easy to make up some simple brackets to mount them out of aluminum flat bar stock-

I normally don't. But I liked the look of them on the decware.![]()

Hey Bas, which schematic are you going off of?
I assume you are going to run separate cathode resistors, yeah?

Seperate. But mainly because I could not find my big 150ohm resistor in time. I think I have 270ohm on each. Schematic is ball park. 47k on 6n1p. 1.2k cathode. 470k grid leak. But I'll draw something up. Just because I like to have it.
As I am in Canada, the Solen caps from Solen Canada were a reasonable choice at the time of the build, which was a while back. I’m not sure if that is still the case. I recently purchased a bunch of DC Link caps for a 300B build, after reading good reports. https://content.kemet.com/datasheets/KEM_F3125_C4AQ_M.pdf^ Nice.

Also have a stash of those for 2a3 and 300b projects todo. I'll use a couple for the Zen. Very compact for 70uF/500V. Just did a check on mouser and digikey. 0 in stock I wonder why? 😉 . But worse is longer than a year lead time. But plenty of other values and even higher voltages in stock.

Something like this at the moment. Might have to lower the value of the R1 resistor. (It is 6,8k in one of the Zen schematics I found)
PSU to be determined.
PSU to be determined.
You'd need to run the power stage cathode at high voltage, or run a negative rail to do that really, then things get a bit tricky and it totally changes the design.
Running a decent cap there is a way more elegant solution in my opinion. Something like the Jantzen or an MKP will be pretty blameless there.

It is out of scope for this little amp indeed. The Jantzen Superior Z Cap is my go to cap. Does not dissapoint.
