Music lives in the midrange

In a way I wish I never had as it really spoiled me at an impressionable age and the really sad thing is that later on we could buy them used for pennies on the dollar at the military surplus stores, but by then I was so immersed in huge theater horn systems that I couldn't be bothered, figuring that based on the public's predilection with foreign multi-ways that these would still be around in yard sales for years, if not decades, to come. You can probably guess who was buying them in bulk based on weight at least in my locale.

I dont like paper either, I find they can be shouty if you dont get the right one. You have to be careful with Poly as they can be a bit "wooly" sounding so get a good one. I really like the AC mid. Also like Wolf says the curv cone drivers U18 etc are very good.

How you find a Focal W ??
@jimbones , The AC 130-fe1, is maybe like some cone from Volt ... I do not know. I read here and there it can a little lack of details. The Audiotoknology poly are said to be very detailled but a three tiles the price of the AC... And the Cequenze are not as flat as the datasheet suggest. Troels gravsen uses 2 notch RLC with the 5" Cequenze mid in the Prelude. Dibirama site shows the driver to have the so often seen pitch around 1k hz you can see in many driversnlike the Satori papers (which translate in a climbing disto there).

Thanks, I like tonsee real testimonials from drivers by members, cause you can not purchase them all. 🙂

Sounds like there is sufficient detail for me. I am using it with a Seas T27TAC/GB which is detailed so I dont miss any detail. I will say that my other speakers use the MW16P and I find them ultra detailed. So this is a bit more laid back but NOT boring. I am really close to finishing the baffle and ready to take measurements. Stay tuned all!

Looking forward to read what you subjectivly prefer between The AC and the Satori paper in that uper mid low treble range. The climbing H3 zaphaudio measured in the low treble of the ac130 is theorically discouraging cause a little high above 1k5 hz. But all the users say it is a very good driver for the price and also non reffering to its price.

Making progress on the enclosure next week I should be able to start with the raw driver testing. This is where it gets interesting and i will need guidance. Thanks.

What is important is it sounds good. You like it better than the Satori paper ?
In the zaphaudio the 3 and 5 H seems to high too early but maybe not teanslate too much in odd result.
I wonder how it could sound 400 to 2000 hz in the Nova Andromeda in spite of the 6rs140 in the mid.
