Power Supply sizing

I request your comments for sizing the power supply for these boards. A simple x-over requiring 2 boards will not require as much as 6-8 boards.
At some point 400 mA (or other supply) may be inadequate.

What should we allocate per board?

Hello,

Regarding the resistors and components that go into this project, I have just had an offer that I found hard to resist. I'm most likely going to be able to get resistors from the E192 series at a very nice price, but only if I get a larger amount than I need for my own boards.

Would any of you be interested in these resistors, I will put together a bag with the different values needed for this project.

Also the supplier I talked to seemed interested in delivering the rest of the components also.

Tell me what you think of this.

\Jens

I have not calculated the total price of a set of components, but the resistors seem to be about ½ the price indicated in Tyler’s shopping list.

I have not asked about the other components, but it seems to be likely that we can save a lot if we all shop together.

Since we are at it there is a cheap source for about 1000 Siemens 56pF polystyrene caps (good for compensating the discrete opamps) on Ebay, what about buying 'em all and providing them to the requesters with a small additional charge?

To me a component group buy makes most sense as a complete package. The resistors are the cheapest part of the stuffing materials and easy to get; the shipping would eat almost all the savings here. But quality caps may be harder to get. I may be interested if there's a well priced "complete MOX components" package (minus op amps, but incl. header pins and jumpers and maybe incl. DIL op amp sockets).

On a different line, do I recall correctly, for a 24 dB L-R filter of Fc you cascade two 12 dB/oct filter sections of F=Fc and Q=707 each?

2SK389 have arrived.

Thanks for bringing my attention to it. I'm sitting in the library with the issue beside me. Scared me, I didn't know it was there. My REAL request was to source the 8" woofers (Carboneau#24882) included in the design. They aren't to be found. Saddens me that a mag devoted to DIY would include items that can't be duplicated.

Oh well, back on topic.

I do what I can't do to learn how to do it.

Sounds good to me (saves me a lot of time).
