Hi Eric,
Interesting. System time is pretty much 100% good when using the USB-SDCard method because fake-hwclock.data will have a reasonably current timestamp from the last boot of the host system. It's supposed to be updated each hour by a cron job but cron is disabled in moode os, this is not a problem btw.
The direct method however may be vulnerable to a window where the system time may not be updated yet by timesyncd before user starts mosbuild.
Maybe just prompt for current time??
Even w/o a timezone it will be current enough.Code:timedatectl set-time TIME
References:
man systemd-timesyncd.service
systemd-timesyncd - ArchWiki
-Tim
Yes something like this for direct method ... however usually certificate do not use timezone.
Long time picore user here.. I am trying other distros time to time. Among all others most unique one is moode IMO.
Using 4.0. But every mpd based player has same problem with my source drive. Picore scans and adds everything to dbase correctly. But all mpd based players not scanning entire drive and contents. I tried ntfs,fat32,ext4 filesystems. Tried to give full rights to every directory. For an example; One directory contains 8 subdir and all of them has same kind of flac & cue sheet file. But mpd scan and add only one of them to the library. Couldnt find any clue about this issue.
Anyone has same problem?

Like an initial setup screen on first run?Hi,
as a side work, i installed Volumio
i see it guides me setting up wifi, nas and so on at the init setup
Good to have it in moode.
It would be nice to streamline some of the steps that require a reboot when setting things up if there aren’t any dependencies. Not like you do it often but if you could set wifi/network, audio card, expand fs (optional), updated mpd and rebooted (once!) after it was finished that’d be pretty sweet.

Examine MPD log for an indication of what might be going on. If there are errors then post a sample and I'll have a look.

Similar issue, but not same solution
This was asked and addressed way back in Feb, but I have been unable to get the same simple solution to work. I have searched this thread, but maybe I haven't gone back far enough.
Whenever I try to turn on either the parametric or graphic equalizer, Moode seems to get stuck and will no longer play any tracks. I cannot get the Playback screen to show anything.
My setup:
What I've tried:
Unable to use the graphic equalizer. Doesn't seem to be an option to turn on, off is only option.
Hi,
Symptom suggests one of the other DSP features is on. Only one of Crossfeed, Parametric EQ or Graphic EQ can be on.
-Tim
Ah! Thanks Tim, that was indeed the case. These functions are fabulous, I'm finally getting my speakers balanced to match my damaged hearing range. Thanks for your wonderful program. Donation headed yer way.

My setup:
RBPi 3B ---> MoOde Release 4.0 2018-01-26 ---> Allo Piano 2.1
What I've tried:
- Turning on either Parametric EQ (with default settings) or Graphic EQ (Lo boost, Hi boost, tried several) under the Aduio Config page.
- Tried just waiting awhile, refreshing, emptying caches, and also tried rebooting.
- Playback screen has audio controls but no tracks, playlist, or album art.
- Playback controls don't do anything.
- Nothing seems to enable playback except going back to config and turning off the EQ.
- Reboot required for playback.

Sorry can someone tell me the the exact steps to reproduce this, so at which menu level they start the search, what term they use and which item they select.
As unfortunately I cannot reproduce this in either Bubbleds or Kazoo, I am on the latest version of upmpdcli but I think the only differences between the patched version and mine are outside of Tidal and Qobuz.
Also check to see if there are any upmpdcli errors in syslog as mentioned above.
I will look at reverting my upmpdcli tonight.
Sorry for only responding now SB but this is the log from /var/log/syslog that may be relevant. This happens when searching for an album or a track using both Linn Kazoo and Lumin.
I apologise if it looks a bit messy but I do not now how else to post the extract from syslog

I am just not experienced enough to sort out what is going on.
Thx so much!
I don't see anything suspicious in the Sysinfo output so not really sure whats going on but the UI symptoms suggest that MPD has crashed. Maybe take a look at MPD log for an indication of what might be going on.

Why not the Git wikis that are already available?
I suggested the git wiki in the first place, but you replied with “Github is not a forum or a wiki”, so I tried the ones from the list you posted.
GitHub would be my first choice.
Works ok here on my end.

lol, ya got me ;-)
Whenever I try to turn on either the parametric or graphic equalizer, Moode seems to get stuck and will no longer play any tracks. I cannot get the Playback screen to show anything.
Same symptoms here with RPi 2b/Piano 2.1.
I just could not reproduce this, unfortunately on holiday for a couple of days so will not be able to look again for perhaps a week or so. The only thing I could think of iis that I have built the latest releaseSorry for only responding now SB but this is the log from /var/log/syslog that may be relevant. This happens when searching for an album or a track using both Linn Kazoo and Lumin.
I apologise if it looks a bit messy but I do not now how else to post the extract from syslog

@Mars67, @Serverbaboon
@Serverbaboon's conjecture is spot on.
With stock moOde r40, BubbleUPnP failed when I tried to browse Tidal Playlists. Once I overwrote /usr/share/upmpdcli/cdplugins/tidal/tidalapi/__init__.py with the latest __init__.py this problem went away.
Even so, when I tried to search in the ways @Mars67 indicated, I repro'ed the the failure he reported.
I then cloned the git repo for upmpdcli and replicated what mosbuild_worker.sh does by changing to the repo's top-level directory ./upmpdcli-code and running through the usual steps of
Code:
./autogen.sh
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc
make
sudo make install
The configuration file loaded in the moOde build process and managed by the moOde UI, /etc/upmpdcli.conf, was not overwritten but for some reason I found its permissions set to 600 which prevents upmpdcli from starting and spawning a second process so I changed them to 644.
I rebooted moOde and now I can search Tidal content to my heart's content using BubbleUPnP.
YMMV

Kent

The make install does the permission thing, it was an attempt by the developer to improve the security by only allowing the upmpdcli user to read the config file. As you stated this does not work in the case of Moode.
He did say that he would be doing another release soon so was hoping I could just give out the repository addition steps to upgrade rather than the build steps.
As a matter of interest did you use automake and did you have to apt-get install it? I have lost track whether it's required.

Hi, Steve.
I just repeated the steps taken in mosbuild_worker.sh, as I outlined. All the necessary tools are already present because of prior steps.
@Rucia1
I'm on my way to a birthday party. I'll post a more detailed description either tonight or tomorrow morning.

I am using two streamers with Moode (old 4.0 beta with LL and RT kernels), one with pi3-Digi+ Pro-i2s-Buffalo DAC and second with Pi3-Dac+pro (with three dedicated ps).
IMHO the best sound with i2s Buffallo is with LL kernel, the best sound from Dac+ Pro is with RT kernel. Is there any chance to get at least LL and maybe RT kernel back in Moode ? Without support, just as an option. I tried official 4.0, now i am back with 4 beta ...
Moode has more and more options, but finally most important is the sound quality and IMHO older Moode with LL and RT delivered the best sound quality, better than any other pi players, which i tested.

Here's a screenshot of my MDP settings if that helps. Could it be the SoX settings?

UPDATE: After disabling SoX resampling and setting SoX quality to medium, it looks like the EQ is working. What was going on? Should I have SoX resampling off anyway?
Caution, NOOB question incoming ----> Doesn't SoX upsampling get me a higher sound quality? What should these setting be? Or what should they not be?
Thx again for your assistance! 🙂
