I've taken my zero w to my friend's house to demonstrate the great product but I need to get it on his wireless network
What's the quickest/easiest way to do this?
I don't see the moode AP on my mobile like I did when I originally set it up...
Thanks

Hi @markstwin,
Which kernel are u using?
In moOde 3.5 - 3.7 the W integrated Wifi is only supported in Std kernel.

You will probably have to use Ethernet, if you already have your home AP set up in moode. Once connected via Ethernet, you can change your wifi settings via the web interface
Before taking it home, wipe the wifi settings and it will revert to moode AP
Hi gents
This is a zero w with 3.7 so no ethernet
Afraid I can't easily 'take it home', I'm in a different country now 😱
Any other ideas?

Hi @markstwin,
If you've already set an SSID for home network and you're not at home and can't get Ethernet access at your current location then only option is to burn fresh 3.7 image on an SD card and then the W will boot up in AP mode.

1. Temporarily change your friend's wifi to your home router's ssid & password and then edit things to match the original once you get access.
2. If you can read / write the micro sd card's file system then there's probably a config file you can edit but someone else will have to supply those details.
3. Flash another micro sd card with a fresh copy of moode.
I have never tried this but..
Can you create a Hotspot on your phone using your home wireless settings and connect back from phone or (tablet).

Hi Tim,
As you are preparing the new Moode 3.8 version, I was wondering if it could be possible to allow the installation of Moode on a USB HDD instead of a SD card: I tried to do so many times (following some tutorials that I found on the web) without success (the first boot was always successful but then it could not start the day after) and reading this thread I think that it is not allowed by your software...
looking forward to reading your comments,
Thank you in advance

Hi @pkdick,
The last 3.8 build I made was based on Jessie Lite 2017-03-02 release. There is later release 2017-04-10 that indicates in the release notes:
http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/release_notes.txt
* Use PARTUUID to support USB boot
And this procedure for booting from USB drive.
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/msd.md

I noticed that track 2 of a particular album didn't show in the library. I rescanned the DB and it still didn't show though it is definitely in the scanned album folder. So, I deleted the folder containing the album and rescanned. As expected the whole album was then missing. I copied the album back, from another location and scanned again. The album is back, but again it's without track 2. Any idea as to what's going on?
Can the FLIRC USB Universal Remote Control Receiver be used with Moode? Thanks
No one tried using a Remote with moode then?

Hi Tim,
Thank you for this information. You may have noticed that I am not a linux specialist, but usually I was able to follow the tutorials and do what they were teaching... I tried many times to move the Moode installation files on my SSD connected to my Raspberry through USB: what I did not understand is that after the operation and having written the config.txt and the fstab file (using the PARTUUID info in order to keep the SSD identification whatever it happens), I could not start again the raspberry, making a cold boot (i.e. the day after).
I also found the booting modification procedure that you propose, which I did not apply as it is an irreversible modification for the raspberry. Anyway, I would be grateful if someone could give a dedicated procedure for Moode USB boot, if possible... As a matter of fact such softwares as Moode are writing a lot on the SD card, which may eventually create issues...
Thank you in advance,
I don't know what it means, but this is what the log shows me for the album in question; track 2 is missing:Hi @ICLIP,
Examine MPD log to see whats going on.

Hi @ICLIP,
Track not showing up in the log suggests that it may be corrupt in a way where MPD does not recognize it as an m4a music file, or possibly it has bad permissions, etc.
Maybe try examining the file with Mediainfo util, or re-rip just that track.
-Tim

in place update question
Ignore... a reboot cleared that up.
I apologize if this has been covered... I have been running 3.6 just fine. All is good. I finally sat down to do an in-place upgrade. I went thru the appropriate steps, 'checking for update' etc. Clicked the update... that all went fine... yada yada.
Only problem is all system information says that it's running 3.6. I presumed (maybe incorrectly) that it would bump to 3.7.
Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
What does the About screen show?
Moode log will also have the version stamp and the update stamp.
cat /var/log/moode.log
EDIT: nvm, I see that "reboot cleared that up"
