Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Tim,

Good news. I fixed my error with my new Nas Source in Moode 4.0. Issue was not with Moode itself but because I had plugged my Pi into a different switch from the Nas. So I it corrected it and now my Naz is working fine, streaming music files to moode. :) .

Thanks for your nice work in Moode 4.0 and close support for it. :)

regards, Rick

Cool :)

Thanks!

So far looking solid as a rock :)

My 6 Pi's are on 7/24 and never a need to power cycle.

What are the symptoms that result in having to power cycle?

The DAC being off, i. e. the power led is off. One has a HifiBerry DAC+, the other a HifiBerry Digi +. I noticed yesterday that the Digi + doesn't happen all the time. I was able to use it without power cycling. That was the first time in a week. The DAC+ is in my bathroom and I've been power cycling it every morning.

Otherwise I like v 4.0. The changes to the UI are useful and the build script works very well.

Just installed Moode 4. The only issue i seem to be having post install is the inability customise the look. All my text are white on a white background and I cannot seem to change it from the UI. The theme/alpha blend/Adaptive background dropdowns are not populated. Screen shot attached.

Clear your browser cache and refresh the page should fix it...

Just installed v 4.0 on 2 devices, both r pi 3. I've noticed that I have to power cycle the r pi when it's been inactive overnight. Is this working as designed? I'm used to leaving the r pi powered on all the time and not having to reboot. It's not a huge deal but it's a surprise. It might be better for the hardware in the long run.

Thanks

@hudsonwoodbridge

I have a first-generation HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro on an RPi2B which is power-cycled only when I try a new release of moOde, otherwise on 24/7. Hasn't ever been a problem. (Listening to it now on moODe 4.0: Cannonball Adderley jamming with "Jay Jay" Johnson).

I also has a HiFiBerry DAC+ which sometimes resides on an RPi3B but is often off as I test various things. It hasn't logged the same amount of on-time but it hasn't given me any problem like you describe.

Are you confident of your power chain?

Kent

Lovin' it, Tim.

A minor nit: the Image Builder knows what release of moOde is being built (it's embedded in the rel-stretch-rxx.zip file name in the mosbuild.properties file which is downloaded by mosbuild.sh).

Could the builder echo the release tag to the mosbuild.log (and possibly to the mosbrief output as well) so we know up front what it's working on for the next hour or 3?

Kent

Unable to start players

Hi, Until now I have always used moode with squeezelite. I wanted to give other players a go. I have configured my NAS and scanned the music library. Everytime I click on "Players", it redirects me to 127.0.0.1, which fails to display (unable to connect). So I presume it can't play, because there is no default player selected. Any suggestions on how could I make it play through MPD from a NAS stored library? Thank you for your good work, btw!

Just use Browse or Library to add some songs to the Playlist and then press the PLAY button.

The "Players >>" feature simply connects to the UI of other moOde players on your network. It has bug that causes it to display "self" which ends up being 127.0.0.1 :-0 This is fixed in 4.1

Tim, you said, ”Symptom suggests an issue external to moOde software. Post in the diyAudio moOde thread with more details including contents of System info and I'll have a look”, in response to my comment about webUI being very slow to load. What do I need to post here?

Output of the System info utility. Menu, Configure, System then Menu, System info
Browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome)
Type of client (Android, IOS)

UI response has not come up as an issue with moOde 4, in fact just the opposite, its more responsive than any prior moOde release, thus your particular issue would suggest something external to moOde software for example network issue or possibly a client/Browser issue, maybe even a broken build.
