That is the one ... I have click "yes" to "Email Notification by default". It did not work because I should have received an email notification right after your post. Something is screwy for the past few months ... at least on my computer. I wonder if anybody else has this problem.

If you check your "User CP", do you see any threads that are listed in "subscribed threads"?

Under "User CP", it shows only 2 threads that I have subscribed to and one of them is this thread even though I have subscribed to more than 10 threads. And this bring up another question. I tried to change the setting from "view last day" to "view last year" but I could not save the new setting. Why is that? (When set it to "view last year", I can see all the thread that I have subscribed to).

My email address shown under my profile is correct and I have never change it ever since I registered to this forum.

Before this "problem", I never have to click the "subscribe to thread" link at the bottom of the page to be able to receive email notification if there is a new post. On this subject, is "subscribe to thread" link new to this forum because I did not noticed it before.

So, what else could be the probelm?

Censorship

Hi All,
As I now have collected three cases of deleted posts by the moderators I cannot keep silent.
1. I made a rather vulgar, but funny, joke in JWB's headphone thread about my girlfriend Alma Crocker. Hi sweetheart, if you read this! The post was deleted, gone with the wind.

2. Today I made a joke about positrons in the ultra fast amplifier thread. Post gone.
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=279745#post279745

3. Whole Bybee thread removed for "cleaning up"

4. Audiofanatic made a post with direct personal attacks against Lars Clausen in the which clock to choose thread and using foul language. Post gone, leaving Lars reply somewhat "hanging in the air" (thin air?)
I mailed the moderators team about the last one, as I wanted to know what has been said, also as Lars reply was pretty unfriendly, saying it politely, about my clock. I got no response from any moderator.
I find freedom of speech very important and I don't like to post on a censored forum.
So back to jester course? I have no problem with f-word or foul language being deleted or starred: like this *** but deleting an entire post??
:att'n:

Elso: Re. your example 4. I ended up being good friends with AudioFanatic, and was really happy about it.

Sometimes the discussion gets a little heated and people tend to say things that out of context (including my self of course) may seem a tod agressive. In your example 4 i was happy that the posts were removed, as they served no real purpose when revisited.

In other cases where a joke is deleted i understand you more.
I agree with you there should always be place for a good joke (if it is funny ..)
I have gotten one joke deleted once, and i must admit, looking back, it wasn't really funny. So that was ok too 🙂 (that they deleted it).

But maybe you have some good ones from Jester School to tell?

Have a nice day from LC

It is actually not possible to delete a post... they just go into an invisible forum. I've attached a snapshot of the most recent deleted posts, are any of them those of which you speak? Most of these will have been deleted by the poster, some didn't make it past moderation, and a rare one gets sent there by a mod... policy is to send them to Texas unless they are particularily obnoxious.

3. Whole Bybee thread removed for "cleaning up"

Patience... it is tucked away until it can have the junk removed... we are all vollenteers here and have day jobs too.

Hello Dave,
I did not see any of my two deleted posts in the list.
I mean Alma Crocker & the "positrons" post. I did look for Alma in Texas but nope. Now will look for the positrons....Nope, not in Texas. I am disappointed. I DID NOT delete my own post.
:hot:

If we all accept the inevitability and "necessity" for f... s... and similar words to be ***'d out, then why should any post ever be deleted?

I've had posts deleted too. Had some sent over to Texas and some ***'s added to others (which is fine), but definitely deletions too. Elso Kwak is right, it is clearly possible for moderators to delete other's posts, and some obviously do.

And what really pee's me off is that the moderator concerned seemed to be the one INVOLVED in a heated exchange at the time. Sometimes exchanges involving concepts at the very fringe of audio lunacy. Witness the power cord debacle for example.

So, my question is who moderates the moderators? Are there rules? Is there a moderator "God"? How about a forum where members can rate their perceptions of moderator competence and impartiality.
