K15 should pretty much be like that first sim. We just don't even know even if that impedance plot is correct - but sure seems more plausible than the published specs. A 15" with that fs and relatively small published Vas would have moving mass >300g.
fwiw I think the little 115BK scaled 1.2X to K15 bulk, would make a nice little K18 / 15 for some drivers

If soecs were like my guess based on that curve then maybe a 2 chamber semi-aperiodic box like a big Dynaco A35 would work

Hi Freddi,
The manufacturer only recommended a 190 litre ported bass reflex box just for info.

About a year ago I had these 0.53x Karlsonator's made with dual 3FE25-16 in espresso brown (14 coats of hand-rubbed lacquer) and black Duratex K apertures. I finally got to see them in person at my place in Michigan where they are currently in use with the big TV in the excercise room. Placed on a stand next to a wall, I was really surprised how big the sound is and how well it reached some bass notes. The sound is full rich and balanced - really nice sounding speakers. These are following the plans by jhofland and my cabinet maker did a fantastic job. Really nicely done.
Using one of those optical Toslink to RCA converters feeding a 2.1 Class D amp with Bluetooth (FOSI brand). Not sure if a sub is really needed though.

Those look great X! Do you have any baffle step on them or just running them straight through?
They don’t need baffle step - the generated bass matches the highs well. I think the aperture must be contributing to the overall balance.
Good to know. I need to find time to build a nice wooden box for mine one of these days. I find I need baffle step with mine but it starts to create too much resonance in the foam core. I probably didn't add enough glue in some spots.

I think the original Karlsonator Six may fit that driver pretty well

The prototype played nicely with both a de-whizzered Fostex 164 and L.Cao F8

Hi Freddi,
If i built it with MDF, i have to use melamine sponge to fill the area behind the speaker as advised in previous threads. How much to sponge to use ?
Secondly, the front surface of the baffle will be lined by foam?
thanks

just my opinion you'd not have to use Melamine sponge in the front chamber as its a fairly sizable cabinet. The "stub" has to be damped on all Karlsonators
The stub fill and cabinet floor pad are probably sufficient.

Melamine sponge on sidewalls of front chamber and rear chamber all walls in line of sight of driver backs. Front aperture line with paper faced foam core. Detailed instructions here:
