Mellow Monster

No problem, not sure what the outside will look like as of yet but looking at birds eye maple from a local wood vendor in my area. Really it will come down to what my wife lets me get. I did some research on these and my wife's uncle built them in 1970. For 55yr old cabinets they still sound good, even with a simple cheap 8 inch woofer and a simple compression driver.

There was an earlier A model that was more tarted-up and less umber-industrial. Mr. Dybvig's flavor did away with the choke in the top of the RCA monitors as well as the flare changes.

Can't swear to B being 90-deg stepped like A (and having chokes like visible in top of gutshot in your link) vs. tapered MM--Jonathan's archive in wayback is dead-end, but that'd be my bet. RIP Steve Schell.

At least I think they were all straight from the get-go of that '36 paper and HFO's book. Probably too-OT now and this belongs in the 64B thread(s). If nothing else, we have provided more industrial design ideas for @rclcomputer (er his wife) 🙂
