If I had to pick something, I'd go for some latex caulk, clear color would look a little nicer. You can brush it around a bit with a wet paint brush also.

Glue is so thin, really intended for bare wood, etc. Silicone caulk is okay I hear, but you have to let it dry for a day or so.
 
Silicone caulk is good on glass or porcelain. Would not use it on wood. The best caulk I find for a whole array of jobs is MS polymer, which turns into a strong rubbery substance after drying, and which can be painted if so desired. Must be on sale in the states,

One part urethane caulk is very good - the latex caulks have gotten better though, have you every tried to pull some off an old window/door, it's tough.

What wood are you using, I see that people are painting the inside of MDF cabs.
